Abstract: An apparatus for positioning a key blank relative to a key cutter. The apparatus includes a frame having an axis. A carriage assembly is attached to the frame and arranged for movement in a generally axial direction and a generally transverse direction relative to the axis. A key blank holder is attached to the carriage assembly. A drive assembly coupled to the carriage assembly is selectively operable to move the carriage assembly in a generally transverse direction. A bias assembly is selectively operable to bias the carriage assembly toward the key cutter.

Abstract: A tool for non-destructively unlatching the door handle of a vehicle which has been locked with the window upraised. The tool comprises a relatively rigid elongate tube which is insertable into the door cavity, and the tube has a relatively rigid gripping rod slidably positioned therein. At its front end, the gripping rod has an eyelet which is adapted to hook onto a latching linkage rod located within the vehicle door. An operating handle is secured to the rear end of the gripping rod and, by pulling and withdrawing the gripping rod, a positive gripping force is exerted on the latching link rod so that the same may be moved to unlatch the door handle. Two embodiments are disclosed whereby the tool is effective for use with vertically or horizontally oriented linkage rods.

Abstract: A portable tool for use by locksmiths and the like with an indexable slide having a positioning hole for nicely receiving a conventional chisel-type stamp. The tool has an adjustable clamp for releasably gripping and retaining a thin object, such as a key blank on a key bed beneath the slide and positoning hole. Spaced detents provide a guide for spacing and, by indexing the slide as desired, the stamp indicia can be applied in a neat and evenly spaced manner.
Abstract: A hand-held tool for pulling the inner cylinder from a tubular lock that has become inoperative. The tool comprises a cylindrical housing carrying a threaded main shaft which has a front segment with resilient fingers. The fingers are radially compressible for insertion into the annular key passageway of the lock whereupon the fingers return to original condition and have tips that engage the inner rim of the lock cylinder. A second shaft is slidable within the main shaft and carries a locking cup that retains the inserted fingers in the rim-engaging condition. A threaded nut on the main shaft is rotatable manually and with a wrench or the like to withdraw the main shaft and forcibly pull the inner cylinder from the lock.
Abstract: A post designed for sign or guide marker use having sufficient longitudinal rigidity to withstand a force driving it into the ground and sufficient elasticity to permit nondestructive deformation upon impact by a moving object, with subsequent restoration to an original, upright position. Various construction materials and/or structural configurations are disclosed for obtaining this dual character without incurring high production and material costs.
