Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of multi-active detection and a stack member device. Each member device in a stack is configured with a detection interface that is assigned an IP address, wherein the IP address of the detection interface on the designated active device is activated. Each member devices is also configured with an active device election rule, and with a correspondence between the IP address of the detection interface on each member device and the active device election parameter of the member device. Upon detection that the stack has become split, each designated standby device transitions to become an active device and activates the IP address of its detection interface.

Abstract: The invention provides a topology collection method and dual control board device applicable to a stacking system comprising dual control board devices. A master control board of a dual control board device advertises through a stack port the topology information of the member device in which the master control board resides, including information about the master control board and, if a slave control board is present, information about the slave control board; and stores the topology information or updates the existing topology information upon receiving the topology information of the stacking system through the stack port, and backs up the stored topology information of the stacking system to the slave control board after the slave control board is inserted. This invention is applicable for collecting the topology information of a stacking system comprising distributed dual control board devices.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and switching device for configuring stack ports. A switching device in a stacking system searches in the neighbor information table to determine whether the neighbor ID carried in a stack link negotiation packet is contained in the table after it receives the stack link negotiation packet on one of its physical ports that is enabled with the stacking function. If the neighbor ID is contained in the table, the switching device adds the physical port to the stack port corresponding to the neighbor ID in the neighbor information table; if it is not contained in the table, the switching device creates a stack port not in use, creates a binding between the neighbor ID and the stack port, and adds the physical port to the stack port. The present invention can automatically configure stack ports, greatly reducing the configuration work of administrators, and avoiding stacking device faults caused by manual configuration errors at the same time.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for packet transmission in the network. When the network device receives data packets from the first user, the network device extracts and saves the data encapsulated in the data packets and then forwards the packets according to the destination addresses of the data packets. When it receives the request from a second user for the data mentioned above, it encapsulates the saved data in data packets and sends the data packets to the second user. With the present invention deployed, the uploaded data packets are saved on network devices and can be directly transmitted to users requesting them. In this way, the present invention avoids repeated traffic upload, reduces upload traffic in the network, decreases network bandwidth occupied by traffic, and thus improves the overall network performance.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for monitoring network multimedia data, comprising: analyzing network packets, identifying multimedia data carried in the packets; separating the multimedia data from the packets, and saving the data and the associated access information to a monitoring information base to be utilized for illegal information detection. This invention also discloses a monitoring apparatus to implement the network multimedia monitoring. The method and apparatus in this invention implement monitoring of the multimedia information travelling in the network.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for collecting information. The technical solution of the invention enables the search engine database to collect dynamic web page access information by sending web page access information to it. As the collected information shows statistics about actual web page access information usage, it is an important reference for the search engine to sequence web pages.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method, an application system and a storage device for managing the configuration information of applications, and it is applied to the storage device where an application extension area is created for every logical resource and their application extension area to physical resource mappings are maintained. The method comprises: the application system accessing the application extension area of a logical resource on the storage device when executing an application; the storage device storing the configuration information generated by the application system for the application to the appropriate physical resource based on the said mappings. The present invention ensures that the configuration information of applications can survive the failure of the application system or storage device and be restored when the application system or the storage device recovers.

Abstract: This invention discloses a method, apparatus, and system for packet transmission. The method for packet transmission includes: configuring the two logical interfaces of a bidirectional tunnel to operate in bridge mode; at the first logical interface of the two, encapsulating Layer 2 packets and the protocol type information in tunnel packets and transmitting the packets to the peer through the bidirectional tunnel; at the second logical interface of the two, transmitting the tunnel packets to the corresponding Layer 2 protocol stack for processing according to the protocol type information in the received tunnel packets. The present invention enables the logical interfaces of a bidirectional tunnel to operate as Layer 2 ports to transmit Layer 2 packets.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a virtual tape library (VTL) backup system, and a method of hard disk drive (HDD) power control in VTL devices. In the VTL backup system, a disk control module (DCM) is added to the VTL device and an agent module is added to the backup server. When a backup or disaster recovery (DR) operation is triggered, the agent module in the backup server can inform the disk control module (DCM) in the VTL device to trigger the VTL device to power on all the HDDs before the operation starts, and to power off all the HDDs after the operation ends. Power saving in the VTL device is achieved through power control over the HDDs.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for advertising and processing pseudo-wire (PW) information, which comprises: the sending provider edge (PE) device using two or more methods to group PWs, identifying the group identifier assigned to each PW with each grouping method, and sending all group identifiers of each PW to the receiving PE device; the sending PE device sending to the receiving PE device the notification message that carries information identifying the affected PW group, and the receiving PE device identifying the PWs belonging to the affected PW group according to the received notification. The present invention also discloses the sending and receiving PE devices for advertising and processing PW information. The method and the devices of the present invention can support grouping PWs with more than one method, allowing for flexible use of PW group-based messaging and message processing.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for hard disk power failure protection. The method includes receiving power from a battery through a battery power input wire when the hard disk drive is out of power, supplying battery power to the cache of the hard disk drive, and performing data protection for the cache. A wire of the hard disk interface (HDI) may be set as the battery power input wire, and the battery power voltage is less than or equal to the standard voltage of the wire used as the battery power input wire. The method can ensure cache data security and integrity with low cost and maintain compatibility with existing interface configurations.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for data output control, which comprises: obtaining the length of idle bits in the cache queue of a data output interface, and if the idle-bit length is equal to or longer than the length of the data to be sent on the interface, putting the data into the cache queue of the interface. In addition, this present invention discloses another data output control method, and two types of data output control apparatuses. Using this invention can avoid flow interruption.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for network access control (NAC) in roaming services. In embodiments of the present invention, roaming quarantine access policies and roaming secure access policies are defined on access devices to control access of roaming terminals, instead of defining unified access policies on network-wide access devices. Embodiments of the present invention allow each branch network to enforce and update access policies as needed without restrictions of network identification and adaptation, making it easier to implement NAC on a distributed network, and improving NAC development. Embodiments of the present invention provide widely applicable, easy-to-implement NAC solutions for roaming.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a packet processing method, comprising: A. the transmitter acquiring the redundancy information based on the payload of at least one transmitted packet and transmitting the redundancy information to the receiver; B. the receiver restoring the payload of the abnormal packet according to the redundancy information relating to the abnormal packet. The present invention also discloses the packet transmitting apparatuses and packet receiving apparatuses. By performing error correction and restoration for abnormal packets, the present invention improves packet transmission reliability and thus the quality of transmitted media streams.
