  • Patent number: 11539936
Abstract: An imaging system includes a detector configured to obtain radiation data from one or more sources and a controller. The controller is configured to define plurality of buffers based on at least one initial condition. The radiation data includes a plurality of events. The controller is configured to receive an individual event of the plurality of events and determine if the individual event falls within a designated current buffer. Each of the plurality of events in the current buffer is corrected for pose and aligned in a common two-dimensional space. The plurality of events in the current buffer are reconstructed into a three-dimensional space, the reconstruction being done once for each of the plurality of buffers. The controller is configured to create a three-dimensional image based in part on the reconstruction in the three-dimensional space.

  • Publication number: 20210165117
Abstract: An imaging system includes a first mask unit having a hollow cavity surrounding a rotational axis. The first mask unit is characterized by a first pattern encoded on its surface. The first pattern defines a height along an axial direction and includes a respective plurality of elements with at least one open element and at least one blocking element in each of the axial direction and the circumferential direction. A detector is configured to receive radiation data from at least one source such that one of the detector and the source is located inside the hollow cavity and another is located outside the hollow cavity. The first mask unit is configured to move relative to the rotational axis in at least one of the axial and circumferential direction until the first pattern is recorded in 360 degrees. A second mask unit may be positioned around the first mask unit.

  • Patent number: 10586624
Abstract: Disclosed herein are an imaging assembly and a method of controlling the imaging assembly. The assembly includes a housing having a sensor configured to detect radiation impinging on the sensor from a plurality of directions. The assembly may employ one or more shields, including a first internal shield having a first annular body between a first inner surface and a first outer surface. The first internal shield is configured to be placed in the housing such that the first inner surface at least partially surrounds the sensor. When the first internal shield is placed in the housing, the sensor is configured to receive a first central zone radiation through a first field of view, and a first peripheral zone radiation through a first peripheral view. The assembly is configured to provide at least one of a controllable field of view and reduced background contamination in an image domain.

  • Patent number: 10297697
Abstract: A system for imaging at least one source of radiation with a mask and a plurality of detectors. The mask is characterized by a base pattern and configured to selectively transmit or block the radiation striking the mask based in part on the base pattern. The mask includes a plurality of tiles each repeating the base pattern. The number of the detectors is N and each of the tiles is divided into N respective portions. The plurality of detectors is positioned in a spaced apart configuration such that each of the plurality of detectors captures the radiation passing through different ones of the N respective portions of the plurality of tiles. The different ones of the N respective portions combine to form the base pattern.

  • Patent number: 10032264
Abstract: An imaging assembly includes a radiation camera configured to obtain position-sensitive radiation data of at least one source of interest. The assembly includes a controller includes a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which is recorded instructions for executing a method for reducing background interference in the position-sensitive radiation data in an image domain. The controller is programmed to generate a first set of image data (G1) from the position-sensitive radiation data with a first energy window. A second set of image data (G2) is generated from the position-sensitive radiation data with a second energy window such that the second energy window does not overlap with the first energy window. A third set of image data (G3) is generated having reduced background interference, based at least partially on the first and second sets of image data.
