  • Patent number: 7251954
Abstract: A modular refrigeration unit has a condenser assembly, an evaporator assembly, and a bulkhead assembly positioned between the condenser assembly and the evaporator assembly. The refrigeration cabinet includes a condenser chamber adapted for receiving the condenser assembly. The condenser chamber has an insulated wall portion with a mating surface thereon. The refrigeration cabinet also has an insulated main chamber, in which air is cooled by the evaporator assembly. The bulkhead assembly is engageable with the mating surface to form a substantially air-tight seal between the condenser chamber and the main chamber.

  • Patent number: 7234320
Abstract: A modular refrigeration unit for use in a refrigeration cabinet has a condenser assembly, an evaporator assembly, and a bulkhead assembly positioned between the condenser assembly and the evaporator assembly. The refrigeration cabinet includes a condenser chamber and an insulated main chamber and mating surfaces defining an opening there between. The modular refrigeration unit includes a gasket assembly coupled to a periphery of the bulkhead assembly. The gasket assembly includes one vane mounted on a thermal breaker and engageable with the mating surfaces to form a substantially air-tight seal between the condenser chamber and the main chamber. The modular refrigeration unit is adapted for movement substantially transverse to the bulkhead assembly to engage the vane with the mating surfaces to form the substantially air-tight seal.

  • Patent number: 6094950
Abstract: The invention provides a lock assembly suitable for securing a swing door hinged to a refrigerated cabinet and is intended to dissuade pilfering. The lock assembly includes a strike plate having a mounting plate for mounting to the cabinet, and a locking plate spaced from the mounting plate. The lock assembly further includes a door bracket having an outer door plate to be located on an outer surface of the swing door, and a locking member mounted to the door bracket. The locking member has a locking shaft connected to the locking member for rotation with the locking member. The locking member is locatable between the mounting plate and locking plate of the strike plate and against the locking plate to lock the swing door to the cabinet in a first angular position of the locking shaft, and released from the locking plate to unlock the swing door in a second angular position of the locking shaft.

  • Patent number: 5966958
Abstract: The invention provides a condensate tray for a condenser assembly of a refrigeration assembly and a condenser assembly having the condensate tray. The condensate tray includes an operatively upper liner associated with an operatively lower tray bottom. The liner and bottom are spaced from each other to accommodate a coolant coil disposed therebetween in a predetermined path. At least one locating groove is provided in either of the upper liner and the lower bottom for locating the coolant coil in the predetermined path. The condensate tray minimizes vibration in the coil which may lead to rupture thereof. Also, the tray is easy to clean and shields the coil from condensate which may cause corrosion thereof.

  • Patent number: 5678421
Abstract: A modular refrigeration unit comprising a condenser assembly and an evaporator assembly is bottom-mounted inside a merchandising display cooler such that cool air emerging from the evaporator assembly rises in a plenum defined between an insulated back wall of the cooler and an interior back panel. The cold air passage is centrally disposed between return warm air passages for returning air from the inside of the cabinet into the evaporator assembly. Air inlet and outlet openings are provided at selected locations on the interior back panel. The evaporator assembly is disposed above an evaporator pan which is integrally formed with a well for collecting condensed water vapor and discharging the collected moisture on the other side of a bulkhead insulating the evaporator assembly from a condenser assembly exposed to the ambient atmosphere.
