Abstract: Automatic power shearing apparatus and method for trimming sheet material into finished blanks comprising blade means, x and y axis feeding means and sheet feeding means including a first power driven means for moving the sheet in x and y directions and a second means responsive to a control acting to move the sheet in preselected directions by a constant counter balance against the first power driven means.
Abstract: A stop mechanism for a bending press, plate shear or the like machine, provided with a work-table and with a work-piece stop which is horizontally adjustable along the work table thereby defining the position of the work-piece relative to the machinery, the work-piece stop being coupled with a position control-unit which is provided with an indicator of the momentary position of the work-piece stop and can be programmed with the desired position, the stop being displaceable by means of a hydraulic piston-cylinder unit and a pump drive means controlled by the position control-unit.
Abstract: The invention relates to a machine for processing metal in sheet or plate form, and especially for bending metal sheets, which includes a machine frame, a table base and a ram vertically displaceable in relation to the table base. An upper tool is mounted on the ram and a lower tool cooperating therewith is disposed on the table base over the U section filled with oil with the sheet therebetween, these two tools bending the metal sheet. One of the tools is supported by a compliant support member for the tool. The compliant support member supporting the tool comprises a plurality of individual elements which are disposed tightly besides each other in the oil in the U section and are independently displaceable in a vertical direction so that, in operation, only those elements are displaced towards the supporting means on which the work sheet rests.
