  • Patent number: 5015047
Abstract: A support assembly for a drawer permits the drawer to be located in different positions. The drawer has a pair of laterally spaced side pieces supported on telescopically slidable guide rails. The guide rails have brackets selectively engageable in openings formed in sections attached to the side pieces for obtaining the different positions of the drawer.

  • Patent number: 5004200
Abstract: A fitting for boards, particularly for shelf boards. The fitting includes a support member arranged in the board and a fastening member which engages a groove of the support member and is adapted to be mounted on the wall component. The fastening member has a groove-like recess which extends transversely of the direction of insertion of the fastening member. A locking disk is rotatably mounted in the support member for engaging the recess of the fastening member. The locking disk releases the fastening member when the locking disk is in the unlocked position. In the locked position, the fitting cannot be disengaged when an impact occurs from below.

  • Patent number: 4756637
Abstract: A fitting for connecting two structural components. The fitting includes a locking device mounted on the first structural component and a support device mounted on the second structural component. A rotary member in the support device defines circumferentially extending conical surface against which the front end of the locking device is pressed when the two fitting devices are connected. The force exerted by the front end of the locking device causes the rotary member to be turned. The rotary member has a helical end face which is initially outside of the range of travel of the locking device. Upon turning of the rotary member, the helical end face comes into engagement with a countersurface of the locking device. The resulting connection can only be released by means of a tool. The structural components are pressed tightly together by a further turning of the rotary member.

  • Patent number: 4697934
Abstract: A guide mechanism for sliding furniture parts has an angled inner runner with an outer runner surrounding it. The inner runner and outer runner are designed so that two cages are formed that are essentially square or rectangular in dimension. In these cages are placed rolls that are positioned alternately to brace against two in each case opposing surfaces of the four total track surfaces existing.

  • Patent number: 4669910
Abstract: A metal fitting for a detachable connection between panels, which are at an angle to one another, especially between furniture panels, comprises an approximately cylindrical tension part (3) which is rotatably supported in the recess (2) of a mounting (1). The mounting (1) is attached to one panel and a tension bolt (10), which engages the tension part (3), is attached to the other panel. Recess (2) is provided at its one face (4) with a supporting surface (5) for the purpose of supporting the tension part (3) in the mounting (1). In order to enable the mounting (1) to be manufactured simply and the tension part (3) to be inserted easily into the mounting (1), the other face (13) of the recess (2) is fashioned to be open and has only a nose (14), which rises inwardly above the tension part (3). The tension part (3), in turn, is provided with a longitudinal slot (15) which corresponds to the dimensions of the nose (14).

  • Patent number: 4637321
Abstract: The known built-in ironing boards are disposed on a pull-out which is movably mounted in ways so it can be swung via parallelogram guide arm pairs from a lower position at rest into an upper working position. When ironing on such an ironing board, the pull-out must be pulled out first, whereupon the ironing board must be brought into the working position and locked therein. To facilitate handling, there is now provided a naturally flexible member in the form of a flexible connector such as a wire rope which is effective only when the pull-out is extended, in which position it connects the ways, or a part fixed thereto, to the ironing board. Shortly before the end of the pull-out motion of the pull-out, the ironing board is retained by the wire rope so that the parallelogram guide arm pair pivots upwardly, bringing the ironing board into its working position without requiring additional manipulations to accomplish this.

  • Patent number: 4606588
Abstract: One of two drawable furniture parts have an outer rail made from a triangular hollow section having a lengthwise slot for receiving an inner rail. The outer rail is mounted on an inner rail and rides on a triangular array of balls. The inner rail is made of two superposed U sections whose inside legs are flatly welded together and have their edge portions bent apart to form a track for the upper row of balls. The two lower rows of balls are received in the triangular hollow section below the bent edge portions.

  • Patent number: 4571115
Abstract: An angled bolt is used for securing a mitered connection between two plates particularly furniture boards. To obtain a satisfactory fit between the miters, the position of the bolt shanks in the plates must be well fixed. This is obtained by a stop provided on the bolt so as to extend substantially in the plane of the joint. The stop may take the shape of a ring or a star. To be able to assemble plates also in other than right-angle positions, the connecting corner link is designed as a hinge, with the hinge pin extending perpendicularly to the bolt shanks and having flattened protruding ends which form the stops. These stops come automatically into their position in the plane of the joint.

  • Patent number: 4545698
Abstract: A device for detachably connecting components disposed at right angles to each other having two fitting elements of which the first element is provided with a head section having laterally sloping wedge-shaped surfaces and the second element is provided with a dovetail-like groove into which the head of the first fitting element is accurately fitted so that in the assembled condition of the fitting the wedge-shaped faces of the head section are in secure contact with the inclined inner surfaces of the groove. The first fitting element is in the form of a wedge block adapted to be screwed to the first furniture component.

  • Patent number: 4518278
Abstract: A connecting device for detachable connection of two perpendicularly positioned panels, such as furniture panels, by means of a grooved fastener bolt fastened in the first panel and a tightening bolt rotatably mounted in a blind bore of the second panel. The tightening bolt is mounted in a first blind bore in the second panel and the fastener bolt is adapted to be inserted into a second blind bore in the second panel perpendicular to the first bore. The tightening bolt is in operative engagement with the head of the fastener bolt in such a manner that as the tightening bolt is rotated the fastener bolt is pulled into the second blind bore firmly joining the two panels.

  • Patent number: 4502810
Abstract: A device for perpendicularly joining furniture panels, the device having a cylindrical housing inserted into a blind bore provided in a first furniture panel and a mounting angle secured to a second furniture panel and adapted to be inserted into a receptacle provided in the housing and extending parallel to the axis of the housing. The mounting angle has lateral protrusions for engagement with a screw threaded tightening pin adjustable in a threaded hole in the housing, the threaded hole for the tightening pin forms an acute angle with the receptacle for the mounting angle and is accessible from the same side as the receptacle. By constructing the mounting angle in the form of an L-shaped or Z-shaped angle having lateral protrustions providing engagement with screw threaded tightening pins, substantially greater tightening forces for a corner joint are produced.

  • Patent number: 4332406
Abstract: A lock catch for doors having holding elements thereon includes a catch housing formed with at least one door-mounted holding element-receiving slot therein. At least one locking lever is pivotably mounted within the catch housing. A spring is positioned within the catch housing to normally bias the locking lever to project into the slot. A first bevelled surface is formed on the locking lever and is engageable by the holding element on the door when the door is closed, such engagement resulting in pivotal movement of the locking lever in a first direction to permit entrance of the holding element into an inner end region of the slot inwardly of the locking lever. A second bevelled surface is formed on the locking lever is engageable by the holding element of the door upon withdrawal of such element from the inner end region of the slot in which it has been locked releasably.
