  • Publication number: 20130212779
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a waistband expansion system for a garment includes a first panel of a garment, a second panel of the garment, and a first stretch panel coupling at least a portion of the first panel to at least a portion of the second panel of the garment. The first stretch panel is made of a material with elastic properties. The first stretch panel forms a portion of a waistband of the garment and includes a first panel portion that forms an exterior portion of the garment, a second panel portion that forms an interior portion of the garment, and an elastic strip that is positioned between the first panel portion and the second panel portion. The elastic strip has first and second ends that are each secured to at least one of the first panel portion and the second panel portion by a row of stitches.

  • Patent number: 5980583
Abstract: A method of manufacturing durable press garments by inserting garments constructed of a cellulose fiber-containing fabric into an apparatus capable of tumbling the garments about a generally horizontal axis in such a manner as form a tunnel defined by the garments. The method tumbles the garments and injects a durable press resin into the tunnel in the form of a mist to impregnate the garments with the durable press resin. The method dries the impregnated garments and cures the dried garments.

  • Patent number: 5970641
Abstract: A foldable article indicia strip and method for size labeling a foldable article garment. A strip of flexible material has indicia repeatedly printed along a first major surface thereof. The indicia are printed using symbols having a height no greater than the width of an edge of said foldable article. A second major surface of the strip has a pressure sensitive adhesive material bonded thereto. In use, the second surface of the strip is affixed to a foldable article at a predetermined position whereby sizing information of the foldable article can be determined by reading said strip when the foldable article is folded.

  • Patent number: 5749163
Abstract: An apparatus for the manufacture of wrinkle-resistant garments is disclosed which includes a housing enclosing a drum which is rotatable on a generally horizontal axis, whereby when the drum is rotated with garments disposed therein a tunnel defined by the garments is formed. Mounted on a door secured to the housing is an atomizer unit positioned to discharge a durable press resin in the form of a mist through a hole in the door and into the garment tunnel when the door is closed. In practice, durable press resin is fed into the atomizer unit while the garments are being tumbled until the garments are sufficiently wetted with the resin. The wetted garments are then ready for curing to impart wrinkle-resistant properties to the garments.
