Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel antimicrobial polymer composition comprising a novel crystalline antimicrobial composition. More particularly, the present invention relates to an antimicrobial polymer composition comprising a crystalline antimicrobial composition and a polymer, wherein said crystalline antimicrobial composition comprises a crystalline silicon dioxide containing silver ions and one or two optional metal ions selected from the group consisting of zinc and copper.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel crystalline antimicrobial composition comprising silicon dioxide as a major component. More particularly, the present invention is concerned to said crystalline antimicrobial composition wherein said crystalline silicon dioxide contains silver ions and one or two optional metal ions selected from the group consisting of zinc and copper.
