Abstract: A method of implanting hair into skin tissue comprising the steps of forming an open loop on the end of a hair; passing the open hair loop over the tip of a needle and into hooked engagement within a notch formed in the needle periphery; inserting the needle and hair loop hooked thereto into skin tissue; releasing the hooked hair loop from the needle; and extracting the needle from the skin tissue.
Abstract: A method is disclosed for implanting hair into human skin comprising the steps of tieing a knot into a hair with the knot defining an interstice through which skin tissue may subsequently grow thereby anchoring the hair firmly in place, loading a needle by placing the hair knot in a hollow end of the needle and extending the hair from the knot through a notch formed in a surface of the needle end, inserting the loaded needle into the skin, and extracting the needle from the skin.Apparatus is also disclosed for implanting hair having a bulbous end into human skin which apparatus comprises a tubular needle having a beveled end providing a pointed tip for piercing the skin and a notch formed in the beveled end through which the hair may extend with the bulbous hair end held within the tubular needle in engagement with an inner surface of the needle adjacent the beveled end notch.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for implanting hair into human skin comprising the steps of inserting an end of a hollow outer needle into skin to form a pit in the surface thereof, sliding an inner needle within the outer needle to position an end of the inner needle supporting a bulbous end of a hair within the skin pit adjacent the end of the outer needle, and extracting the outer and inner needles from the skin pit.Apparatus is also disclosed for implanting hair into human skin which apparatus comprises a hollow outer needle having a relatively sharp end for piercing skin, a hollow inner needle slidably disposed within the hollow outer needle and having a centrally apertured relatively blunt end for receiving a hair therethrough and for supporting a bulbous hair end on the surface thereof, and means for moving the inner needle blunt end between positions remote and positions closely adjacent the outer needle sharp end.
