Abstract: Apparatus for inspecting the surface of objects such as band-like running material, which may be metal, paper, or textile, without stopping or reducing the speed of the inspection line, to determine the occurrence of defects. The inspected object surface image and defect data are recorded so that at a desirable later time, the defect data may be reviewed to make a judgement of acceptance or rejection of the object. The apparatus provides an effective control on production.
Abstract: A stroboscope is employed as the lighting source for a video camera, the output of which is converted into a signal from which a fault in the object scanned is detected. The stroboscope is controlled in response to a portion of the output voltage of the video camera to insure that the luminous energy is constant.
Abstract: A light source irradiates one side of a transparent container and a video camera is placed to pick up the image of the transparent container so that it will not directly receive the reflection of light from the light source. A nonreflecting plate is placed behind the container in opposition to the video camera. An image processor processes the output image of the camera. Abstract: A sample of powder granules flowing through an online conveyor is removed periodically and fed to a supply hopper where a predetermined amount of granules are stored. A small portion of the granules are removed from the supply hopper and continuously fed to the upper surface of a rotary table to form a single layer thereon. The sample on the table is optically sensed to detect foreign particles. The foreign particles are removed and subsequently the good particles are removed and passed to a weighing hopper. The ratio of good product after sensing and the sample in the hopper is calculated to determine the relative amount of foreign particles flowing in the system.
Abstract: Powder granule samples are continuously and automatically inspected on a rotary table which conveys the granule specimens on its suface. The rotary table has a circular 5 groove formed on its surface in which the sample granules will fit.
Abstract: An image of a light irradiated object is picked up by a video camera. Detection of defects on the object is conducted from the image signal from the video camera. Two inspection zones adjacent each other are established on the picture screen, each having a preset size. The brightness of each of the respective two inspection zones is sensed and accumulated as the inspection zones are indexed across the screen. When the difference between the accumulated values of the respective inspection zones exceeds a preset threshold value a defect is defined.
Abstract: A light source irradiates the bottom of a bottle with light that contains visible light rays and infrared rays. Two photoelectric conversion sensors remove the light passing through the bottle bottom from the light source. An optical filter which passes only infrared rays placed in front of the light receiving surface of one of the photoelectric conversion sensors, and the outputs from the two photoelectric conversion sensors are compared directly and a signal is provided when a difference between the outputs exceeds a predetermined value.
