    Abstract: A system for venting crankcase emissions from an engine is disclosed generally comprising a crankcase emissions conduit that communicates blow-by gases from the crankcase into the exhaust flow of an exhaust conduit, which includes a venturi, via an inlet located upstream of the minimum inner diameter of the venturi in order to pump the crankcase emissions therethrough. In certain embodiments, the gases are then directed to a filter assembly, which may include a particulate filter and may include a catalyst for facilitating redox of harmful substances to create harmless compounds prior to venting them or recirculating them in the system. In certain advantageous embodiments, an auxiliary oxygen supply is provided to facilitate these burning processes.

    Abstract: A gasoline engine system includes a gasoline engine, a throttle valve for metering a supply of combustion gas fed to the engine, and a source of metered fuel injected into the combustion gas mixture. The throttle valve includes an inlet air supply line, a recirculating exhaust gas supply line, and an output line. Air entering through the inlet air supply line and exhaust gas entering though the recirculating exhaust gas supply line mix to create a combustion gas mixture of air, fuel and exhaust gas before exiting the output line. A body is actuatable to control a proportion of air versus recirculating exhaust gas in the combustion gas mixture.

    Abstract: A system for controlling the mixture of an air flow and an exhaust gas flow in an engine is disclosed generally comprising an air conduit for the inlet air, which has an exhaust gas inlet passing through the wall thereof for introducing recirculating exhaust gas into the conduit, and a sleeve having an inlet end through which air enters the sleeve and an outlet end through which air exits the sleeve into the conduit, where the sleeve is movable along the conduit to vary the extent to which the outlet end thereof occludes the exhaust gas inlet, thereby regulating the introduction of exhaust gas into the air conduit, which in some embodiments, is completely closed off. In some embodiments, the outlet end of the sleeve is reduced, and certain embodiments include a streamlined body to regulate the air exiting the sleeve.

The control scheme presenting a sequential or stepwise control sequence, where the first valve is actuated over a first pressure range and the second valve is actuated over a second pressure range such that valves operate in a sequential manner.

    Abstract: A control system for controlling an exhaust gas recirculation system having a control valve is provided. The control system includes at least one flow sensor sensing a flow rate of at least one of a recirculating exhaust gas, an inlet air and a combined result thereof, and generating a sensor signal indicative of the sensed flow rate. A processor in communication with the at least one flow sensor receives the sensor signal indicative of the sensed flow rate and generates a control signal based at least in part upon the received sensor signal. The control valve of the exhaust gas recirculation system is adapted to be in communication with the processor and to receive the control signal therefrom, and is adapted to actuate based at least in part upon the control signal.
