  • Patent number: 4521948
Abstract: A segment is cut off a rotating hexagonal bar by opposed cutting tools which form a raised seat for a sealing gasket. The segment defines a hexagonal valve body into which coaxial larger-diameter and smaller-diameter holes are drilled from oppositely facing walls of the six walls of the body, respectively, and a round distribution chamber or port is drilled through the seat centrally thereof and into one side of the body. An internally threaded sleeve is tightly fitted into the smaller-diameter hole and extends toward the chamber to define a back seat. A charging port is drilled through the opposite side of the body and into the sleeve inwardly of its threads. A valve stem with a head at one end having a smaller diameter than the larger-diameter hole is inserted therethrough and is threaded into said sleeve until the head is in the chamber and the opposite end of the stem projects externally of the sleeve for actuation of the head.

  • Patent number: 4371358
Abstract: A novel universal joint is made by forming a pair of elongated members, finishing the ends of said members to form bearing surfaces which are hard and smooth, and rigidly interconnecting the members between their ends to form a substantially cruciform spider structure which is subsequently assembled with the bearing surfaces of one member pivotally connected to the jaws of one clevis and with the bearing surfaces of the other member similarly connected to the jaws of another clevis, thereby completing a universal joint.

  • Patent number: 4354353
Abstract: A compression rod assembly with its button end in tight engagement with a valve body of an automotive power brake unit in a socket of said body having a flow hole at the inner end of the socket has a plunger at the opposite end of said assembly in tight engagement with the piston of a master brake fluid cylinder. The button end of said assembly comprises a hollow button with an internal hollow boss and an annular space therearound. A resilient disc with its diameter complementary to the internal diameter of the button and tightly fitted therein projects from the button to engage the valve body around the flow hole, and a noncompressible disc is similarly fitted into the button, bearing against the boss and the inner side of the resilient disc. A rod is press-fitted at one end into the hollow boss bearing against the inner end thereof and the opposite end of the rod has a plunger threaded therein, the plunger having a head in said engagement with the master brake cylinder piston.
