Abstract: An electric motor system includes an electric motor, and a thermal management system. The thermal management system includes a two-phase refrigerant circuit circulating a flow of refrigerant through the electric motor, and a refrigerant-air heat exchanger fluidly connected to the electric motor via the two-phase refrigerant circuit, such that the flow of refrigerant is boiled via heat generated by the electric motor, and returned to a subcooled liquid state to cool the electric motor. A method of dissipating thermal energy from an electric motor includes urging a flow of refrigerant through an electric motor, thereby boiling the flow of refrigerant, directing the flow of refrigerant from the electric motor to a refrigerant-air heat exchanger via a two-phase refrigerant circuit, and cooling the refrigerant to a sub-cooled liquid state at the refrigerant-air heat exchanger via thermal energy exchange with a flow of air through the refrigerant-air heat exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20230342236
Abstract: A computing method and device for detecting an anomaly event in a hardware-based machine learning anomaly event detector. Data is received from a plurality of input/output interfaces (I/O) or internal functions, wherein the received data of each I/O is associated with a certain sensor or effector. The received data from the plurality of I/O's is analyzed to determine the occurrence of an anomaly event for data from one of the plurality of I/O's. This analysis includes using machine learning techniques dynamically programmed to detect an anomaly event for the I/O data being analyzed by using predetermined parameter values. The predetermined parameter values are retrieved from memory, and are associated with the I/O data being analyzed.

  • Publication number: 20230344210
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a novel bus bar design for use with double-sided cold plates. The bus bar has a ‘symmetry’ such that the same bus bar can be used, depending on its orientation, to connect on either side of the cold plate. Thus, two identically formed bus bar parts, with one of the parts rotated through 180 degrees relative to the other, can be interconnected to form a bus bar assembly. This can reduce unique part counts.
