  • Patent number: 7481313
Abstract: A display apparatus for displaying and dispensing a plurality of items, the apparatus including a box having a front wall, a back wall, a first side wall, a second side wall, and a bottom wall. A dispensing mechanism is slidably disposed within the box and moveable along a longitudinal axis between the box front wall and the box back wall. A biasing device has a first portion secured adjacent the box front wall and a second portion secured adjacent the dispensing mechanism such that the biasing device biases the dispensing mechanism toward the box front wall as the items are removed from between the dispensing mechanism and the box front wall.

  • Patent number: 5181896
Abstract: An exercise machine for performing an incline press includes a frame, a declined seat connected to the frame along a vertical midplane and two independently maneuverable levers with upper rearward ends pivotally connected to the frame above the seat, on opposite sides of the midplane. The lower, forward ends of the levers are adapted to hold removable weights. Handles also extend inwardly, rearwardly and upwardly from the lower ends of the levers. Each handle is adapted to be grasped by a person supported on the seat and upwardly extended and adducted in an incline press motion against the held weights to move the respective lever along a vertical plane that converges inwardly with respect to the vertical midplane. This incline press exercise machine accommodates the natural musculoskeletal movements of the arms and shoulders of a person, thereby maximizing muscular benefit while minimizing joint stress.

  • Patent number: 5180354
Abstract: A rotary cuff exercise machine includes a frame, an elongated platform aligned along a vertical midplane through the frame, and two sides rotatably connected to the frame on opposite sides of the midplane. Each rotatable side includes a horizontally pivotal lever, a hub for holding removable weights on one end of the lever, at least one actuating pad connected to the lever away from the hub for pivotally moving the weighted lever and an elbow rest located below the actuating pad for supporting the elbow during pivotal movement. With elbows supported on the elbow rests, and the hands bearing against the actuating pads, an exerciser lying face up on the platform may pivotally move the weighted levers, through either an internal rotation or an external rotation, depending upon the direction the exerciser is pointed, to exercise the muscles associated with the rotary cuff joint.

  • Patent number: 5106080
Abstract: A leg press exercise machine includes a frame, a declined seat supported by the frame and a pair of levers with upper ends pivotally connected to the frame forward and above the seat. Hubs located at the forward, lower ends of the levers are adapted to hold removable weights to provide a predetermined resistance for an exerciser supported on the seat performing a leg press exercise. The exerciser exerts force from the bottoms of the feet against angled foot pads that are rigidly mounted to the levers, thereby hingedly raising the levers upward and forward. By providing two independently pivotal, weight supporting levers, an exerciser may exercise both legs independently, either in simultaneous motion or alternate motion.

  • Patent number: 5066004
Abstract: A leg extension exercise machine includes a frame, a declined seat connected to the frame and two independently maneuverable levers pivotally connected to the frame in front of the seat, the levers being pivotal in vertical planes that diverge with respect to the front of the seat. Hubs at the lower, forward ends of the levers hold removable weights. Pads supported by the lower forward ends are adapted to be engaged by the fronts of the legs of a person and raised forwardly, upwardly and slightly outwardly to perform a leg extension maneuver while supported on the declined seat. The diverging vertical planes of movement accommodate the natural musculoskeletal leg movements of a person, thereby maximizing muscular benefit while minimizing joint stress.

  • Patent number: 5066003
Abstract: A leg curl exercise machine includes a frame, a platform supported by the frame along a vertical midplane and a pair of levers pivotally connected to the frame in front of the platform. The forward ends of the levers are adapted to hold removable weights and, during performance of a leg curl exercise, are adapted to be acted upon by the legs of an exerciser supported on the platform. The levers pivot along outer planes of movement that diverge from the front of the frame and tilt inwardly toward the top of the frame, thereby coupling the force applied by the legs against separate weight resistances that move through planes that naturally accommodate the musculoskeletal make-up of a person.

  • Patent number: 5050873
Abstract: A pulldown exercise machine for exercise of a muscle group that includes the forearm flexors, the biceps and the latissimus dorsi includes a frame, a seat connected to the frame and two independently maneuverable levers that are pivotally connected to the frame behind and above the seat. The rearward end of each of the levers is adapted to hold a removable weight while the forward end includes an angled handle adapted to be grasped and pulled in a downward direction by a person supported on the seat. The orientation of the sides of the frame, the levers and the handles with respect to the seat insures that pivotal movement of the levers occurs along vertical planes that diverge outwardly from the front of the seat, thereby providing a pulldown exercise that more naturally accommodates the musculoskeletal movements of a person.

  • Patent number: 5044631
Abstract: An exercise machine for performing a decline press includes a frame, a declined seat connected to the frame and two independently maneuverable levers with upper rearward ends pivotally connected to the frame above the seat. The lower, forward ends of the levers are adapted to hold removable weights. Arms extend downwardly and rearwardly from the levers and angled handles are connected to the bottoms of the arms, each handle adapted to be grasped by a person supported on the seat and then pressed forwardly and upwardly in an arcuate path along a vertical plane that converges inwardly with respect to the front of the declined seat. This decline press exercise machine accommodates the natural musculoskeletal movements of the arms and shoulders of a person, thereby maximizing muscular benefit while minimizing joint stress.

  • Patent number: 5044632
Abstract: An improved exercise machine for performing a dumbbell press includes a frame, a seat connected to the frame and two independently maneuverable levers with rearward ends that are pivotally connected to the frame behind and above the seat. The forward ends of the levers are adapted to hold removable weights and also include forwardly and upwardly angled handles adapted to be grasped and pressed in an upward arcuate direction by a person supported on the seat. The orientation of the sides of the frames and the levers with respect to the seat insures that pivotal movement of the levers occurs along vertical planes that diverge outwardly from the front of the seat, thereby providing a dumbbell press exercise machine that more naturally accommodates the musculoskeletal movements of a person.
