  • Patent number: 4842473
Abstract: The manipulator for sheet-metal pieces is used in conjunction with a sheet-metal working machine and has two rotatable holding members (20) displaceable in three dimensions. The holding members (20) each have both clamping tongs (22), which act on the surface of the sheet-metal piece (24) to be worked, and a clamping strip (23) exerting pressure parallel to the sheet surface. It thereby becomes possible for the sheet-metal piece to be worked, in a first working phase when it is still plane, to be grasped along two parallel edges by means of tongs and, after the first working, to be held only by means of the clamping strips.

  • Patent number: 4815349
Abstract: An angle shear for cutting a sheet metal plate in two directions shear comprises a feed table, associated therewith longitudinal and transverse cutting blades guide means, and a rotary device arranged above the feed table. Longitudinal feeding means can be retracted from the work position to a position beneath the table level and are arranged in a transverse row. Transverse feeding means can be arranged at the table level and forms a longitudinal row. Both the longitudinal and transverse feeding means cooperate with side stops, which are arranged and distributed within a plane extending in longitudinal and transverse direction. The angle shear provides for automatic feeding of sheets and stacking at several stations.

  • Patent number: 4753100
Abstract: For supporting a sheet-metal article which rests on a die and which executes an upward pivoting movement during the pressing operation, a vertically movable supporting unit is provided. The movement of the latter is coordinated with the ram movement and executed at a speed which is in a specific ratio to the speed of the ram. This ratio corresponds to the ratio of the distance between the support and the die edge facing it to half the die width.

  • Patent number: 4708573
Abstract: A device for handling metal sheet workpieces for a bending press or other metal-working machine has a pair of vertical plates which are movable along the front of the press and are spanned by guide columns upon which respective slides are movable vertically to carry the tongs. A turntable on the press allows rotation of the plates about horizontal axes in the vertical plane.

  • Patent number: 4700599
Abstract: An apparatus for removing strips from immediately downstream of the blades of a plate shear and stacking them on a pile at a predetermined position also downstream of the plate shear comprises a conveyor that moves the cut strip from the plate shear in the transport direction, a supporting rake downstream of the conveyor and movable horizontally at the same height as the conveyor between a receiving position directly above the pile position and an unloading position offset therefrom, a stripper above and cooperating with the supporting rake and engageable horizontally opposite to the direction with a strip on the rake, and an accelerator upstream of the stripper arrangement and engageable in the direction with a strip on the rake. The accelerator and the stripper can be locked at a predetermined spacing from each other in the direction for clasping the cut strip between the accelerator and the stripper arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4644834
Abstract: A feed lever and a lateral stop with individual guide members spaced apart and arranged in slot-shaped grooves of the metal feed table supported so that they can be raised and lowered on a support. The guide members are each equipped with a guide body possessing a lateral stop in the form of a roller. These rollers come up against the edge to be guided of the sheet metal plate. A guide and clamping device is located alongside of each roller. The apparatus allows sheet metal plates to be accommodated, spaced apart from one another in several stacks, these sheet metal plates being cut at different locations on the cutting knife.

  • Patent number: 4552002
Abstract: An apparatus for bending a plate utilizing a bending punch and a die into which the bending punch penetrates to a greater or lesser extent depending on the bending angle .alpha.. The magnitude and variation of the bending force required during deformation of the plate unit are determined and utilized to determine the depth h of punch penetration.

  • Patent number: 4515050
Abstract: Sheet metal plates are automatically fed for processing to a computerized numerically controlled sheet shear arrangement by means of the feeding apparatus. This feeding apparatus comprises a feeding bar arranged parallel to the cutting blades of the sheet shear arrangement and movable perpendicular thereto. Elevationally displaceable or movable holding elements are arranged on opposite sides of the feeding bar. On the side of the cutting blades the holding elements retain a first sheet metal plate intended to be cut and on the opposite side grip a second sheet metal plate which has been elevated by suction elements. During the cutting operation performed upon the first sheet metal plate the second sheet metal plate is drawn to a working table within an overlapping time interval and placed upon the working table.

  • Patent number: 4509357
Abstract: Bending presses equipped with the tool arrangement permit sheet blanks or metal plating to be bent in series in accordance with predetermined programs without having to perform time consuming tool exchange operations after each single operative or working step. The tool arrangement comprises a first tool and a second two-piece auxiliary tool. Both parts of the auxiliary second tool are subdivided into segments as is the case also for the first tool and the tool holding fixture or support and are supported at a hydraulic cushion. The segmental matching design of the tool holding fixture, the first tool, the auxiliary second tool and the bottom dies additionally enables the two types of tools and their associated bottom dies to be simultaneously controllably directed into a respective operative position over part of the length of the bending press.

  • Patent number: 4474094
Abstract: The apparatus forms upon a pallet an orderly arrangement of stacks of sheet metal sections or cuttings at predetermined places with the aid of supporting rake means and abutment means following sheet metal shears. Scrap metal cuttings obtained by trimming or at the end of a sheet metal plate are received by a separate waste scrap metal collecting means positioned beneath a sheet metal feeding or infeed table and movable below the sheet metal shears. The sheet metal sections or cuttings are caught and entrained by automatically controlled catching means, such as an entrainment bracket, disposed at the supporting rake means, so as to be able to be moved horizontally in order that large accelerations and velocities can be achieved during the stacking of the sheet metal sections or cuttings.
