Abstract: A method for treating hepatitis B comprises administering a herbal extract to a subject in need thereof to suppress survival of hepatitis B virus. The herbal extract is manufactured by extracting a herbal composition by a 70-95% aqueous ethanol solution at 40-50° C. The herbal composition comprises 40 wt % of a fruit body sample of Antrodia cinnamomea, 40 wt % of a sample of Polygonatum sibiricum and 20 wt % of a sample of Glycyrrhiza uralensis.
Abstract: The invention discloses a method of processing Zingiber zerumbet for producing a processed sample of Zingiber zerumbet, which easily releases flavonoids in a following extraction process. The method includes the steps of: soaking a raw sample of Zingiber zerumbet with a processing reagent selected from rice vinegar or yellow wine at 23-27° C. for 20-28 hours; and steaming the soaked product at 0.6-1.4 kg/cm2, 80-120° C. for 20-40 minutes.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an extract of Zingiber zerumbet, which is used to manufacture the extract of Zingiber zerumbet for diabetic retinopathy, includes: soaking a raw sample of Zingiber zerumbet with vinegar for 8 hours; boiling the soaked product at 1.5-2.5 kg/m2, 95-105° C. for 30 minutes to obtain a processed sample of Zingiber zerumbet; and extracting the processed sample of Zingiber zerumbet with an extractant being water or 95% ethanol at 70-90° C. for 8 hours to obtain the extract of Zingiber zerumbet. The present invention further relates to the extract of Zingiber zerumbet and a method for diabetic retinopathy by administrating the extract of Zingiber zerumbet to a subject in need.
Abstract: In the present invention, a ginger extract for inhibiting the fat-store function of adipocytes and a medication thereof is disclosed, wherein the ginger extract is obtained form Alpinia galanga and Zingiber zerumbet. In the present invention, said ginger extract is further administrated to a target in need for inhibiting fat-storage function of adipocytes in the target.
