The door lock circuit is configured to provide a current to the electromagnetic coil load. A pulse width modulation (PWM) controller varies the frequency and/or duty cycle to a switch in series with the coil. An active, solid-state degauss circuit in line with the current flowing through the coil is provided. The keeper includes a keeper stop face that is disposed at an angle relative to a keeper face to limit the rotation of the keeper about the axis of rotation between about 45-60 degrees when the keeper moves between latched and unlatched positions.
