Abstract: In a first aspect, the present invention relates to a hoist for facilitating a transition between firstly a seated or lying position and secondly a standing position of an individual, comprising: a movable lifting arm for exerting a lifting force, a connecting element for transferring the lifting force from the lifting arm to the individual, and a movable handle suitable for supporting the hands of the individual during operation of the hoist, wherein the movable handle is configured to shift during operation of the hoist, wherein during operation of the hoist, the movable handle also executes a movement relative to the lifting arm.

Abstract: Disclosed is an assembly comprising a clamp, strap and rod. The strap is provided for suspending a load from the rod and/or clamp. The clamp comprises a gripping part for gripping around the rod, enabling a clamping of the clamp on the rod. The strap engages with the clamp along a first and second contact line. Two adjacent strap parts form an angle around the first contact line. When a load is suspended from the strap, the strap exerts a force on the clamp at the first contact line, pushing the clamp at the first contact line in a closing direction, pressing the gripping part against the rod. The gripping part is resilient and provided with a pretension for pressing against the rod when no load is suspended from the strap. Further disclosed are lifting aids using the clamp for lifting/repositioning patients with physical limitation.

Abstract: A device for lifting a person, comprising a pair of cups (1, 2) for gripping a person by applying pressure force on opposite sides of the person's thorax (12) and moving means for moving the cups towards each other. The cups (1, 2) are tiltably mounted on the device, each cup (1, 2) having a tilt axis (A, B) which in use extends in a substantially horizontal direction along one of the opposite sides of the person's thorax (12). Each cup (1, 2) has a contact surface for contacting one of the opposite sides of the person's thorax (12), at least a part of which is located behind the tilt axis (A,B) with respect to the person's thorax.

Abstract: Apparatus for exercising the rear leg muscles as well as the lower dorsal muscles of a patient which includes an elongated bench having a footrest at one end which is adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the bench and a dorsal support at the other end attached to a vertically revolvable arm, and a drive device to move the revolvable arm in the vertical plane for bringing to bear an adjustable pressure on the patient's back by movement of the dorsal support.
