Abstract: The present invention discloses a system for supporting task assignment and monitoring allocations of assets and tasks, including a data store and an audit trail generator. The data store stores information relating to assignments of sub-tasks of a task, and the audit trail generator provides an audit trail of the assignments, the sub-tasks, and the task and tracks action relating to the task during the life of the task. The present invention also discloses a method for tracking allocations of assets and tasks, including defining a task comprising sub-tasks, assigning each sub-task to a first assignee, and maintaining an audit trail by retrieving information relating to the progress of the task. The audit trail provides a single view of all the sub-tasks and all of the corresponding assignees during the life of the task.
