Abstract: A dispersible non-woven article, and methods of making the same. The dispersible non-woven article includes a web of fibers and a dried binder having a plurality of ultrasonic energy treated portions and a plurality of non-ultrasonic energy treated portions. The web of fibers has a basis weight of from about 10 gsm to about 150 gsm. The dried binder comprising a polymer having at least one functional group that is reactive with the fibers. The fibers have at least one functional group that is reactive with the polymer. The article has a cross direction wet tensile strength that is developed by the ultrasonic welding. The article is flushable.
