    Abstract: A dental implant for supporting periodontal tissue and the supporting bone is provided. The dental implant includes an implant member for insertion into a periodontal bone socket, and an anchoring assembly. The anchoring assembly includes a fastening element and radially equidistant cylindrical members. The fastening element engages the implant member within the hollow axial cavity. The root section includes through-holes for radially and forcibly sliding the cylindrical members through them. When the fastening element apically advances within the hollow axial cavity, the cylindrical members generate an anchoring force to anchor the dental implant.

    Abstract: A visualization apparatus and a system for enhancing hand-eye coordination during a medical procedure are provided. The visualization apparatus includes an elongate support member, a head member, an operating head element, and a processor. The head member connected to the elongate support member at a predetermined angle includes an angled wall for mounting a reflector. The operating head element connected to an upper end of the head member mounts and supports an objective lens. The objective lens focuses light from an operating field to a reflector to create an image of the operating field. An eyepiece lens accommodated in the elongate support member or the head member magnifies the created image. The processor operatively communicating with an image receiver processes and transmits the magnified image to a viewer. The orientation of the magnified image on the viewer is similar to the orientation of the operating field, thereby enhancing hand-eye coordination.

    Abstract: An amphibious protection apparatus including wall members, an occupancy space, and an access region is provided. Each of the wall members is foldably and detachably connected to the other wall members. Each of the wall members has an enclosed space that is inflatable by a fluid injected into the enclosed space. The inflation of each of the detachably connected wall members forms a buoyant enclosure of a predefined configuration, which bounces on land and floats on water. The occupancy space is defined by the detachably connected wall members and accommodates the users. The access region defined by opening one of the detachably connected wall members provides access to the occupancy space. The amphibious protection apparatus inflated to form the buoyant enclosure protects the users accommodated within the occupancy space from impacts from different directions on land and water and provides safety to the accommodated users on land and water.

    Abstract: A method and system for fabricating a dental prosthesis are provided. High resolution digital scanned images of a patient's oral structures are acquired. Three dimensional (3D) cone beam X-ray images of hard and soft oral tissues are acquired. The scanned images are integrated with the 3D cone beam X-ray images in a 3D space to obtain combined three dimensional images of the oral structures. The occlusal relationship between upper and lower oral structures are digitally simulated using the combined three dimensional images. The dental prosthesis is digitally modeled for planning intra-oral positioning and structure of the dental prosthesis. The digital dental prosthesis model is refined based on simulated force tests performed for assessing interference and retention of the digital dental prosthesis model. A prospective dental prosthesis model is created based on the refined digital dental prosthesis model. The dental prosthesis is fabricated based on a verified prospective dental prosthesis model.
