  • Patent number: 5964342
Abstract: A safety switch including a spring-loaded tappet axially displaceably disposed in a switch cover; a switching bridge on the tappet; and an actuator above the tappet. An essentially U-shaped element has a center web and a first and second leg. The element is swivellably disposed in the cover in the area of the center web and the first leg of the element engages the tappet. The second leg is situated above the tappet such that when the actuator has moved in, the second leg reaches behind and engages the actuator in a switch-on position and permits a complete pulling-out of the actuator from the cover only in a switch-off position.

  • Patent number: 5959270
Abstract: A safety switch includes a housing and a switching mechanism comprised of a controller drum which has opposite end faces and is rotatably mounted in the housing, and an actuator which is insertable from outside into the housing for rotating the controller drum about a predetermined angle and thereby actuating a switch plunger. Incorporated in the safety switch is a safety mechanism which includes at least one contact structure attached in fixed rotative engagement to one of the end faces of the controller drum and having an outer edge, and a plunger bearing on the outer edge of the contact structure.

  • Patent number: 5929404
Abstract: A safety switch includes a switch housing which accommodates a switch as well as mechanical and electrical and electronic components, and a head portion securable to an end face of the switch housing in several predetermined angular positions and accommodating a mechanical switching element e.g. a switching wheel which is operated by an actuator. A rigid positioning element is detachably secured to the switch housing and formed with a safety member, whereby the positioning element is adjustable between a locked position in which the safety member is positively engaged in the head portion and an idle position in which the safety member is disengaged from the head portion for allowing a rotation and re-positioning of the head portion relative to the switch housing.

  • Patent number: 5918731
Abstract: A radius actuator including an actuating member having a shaft which projects into the holder and carries the ball on that end. The ball is fixedly clamped into a clamping part which consists of two halves connected with one another by screws and which is situated in a hollow chamber of the holder. A spring is between the clamping part and the holder in the hollow chamber. The holder is provided with two mounting bores which lead into the hollow chamber and are alignable with the screws of the clamping part.

  • Patent number: 5744767
Abstract: A radius actuator for operating a safety switch, includes a holder and a spring-biased operating key which is secured in the holder by a carrier member and moveable between a slanted initiation position and a switch-actuating position, with the operating key being tiltable relative to the carrier member about a first pivot axis and lockable in place. A base plate is attached to the key-distant end of the carrier member such that the carrier member is tiltable about a second pivot axis and lockable in place, whereby the second pivot axis is in offset disposition to the first pivot axis by 90.degree., thereby allowing a slanted positioning of the operating key over a wide range. The base plate is displaceable within the holder in direction of the longitudinal axis of the carrier member and tiltable relative thereto in opposition to the force exerted on the base plate by a spring which is received in the holder.

  • Patent number: 5662212
Abstract: A radius actuator for a safety switch includes a mounting, a spring-loaded operating key secured in the mounting and moveable between a slanted initiation position and a switch-actuating position. The operating key has a head assembly which is spring-mounted in a slider that is received in a recess of a locking wheel for to and fro movement. The locking wheel is rotatably supported in a mounting and has a cam so that a turning of the locking wheel causes the cam to move the slider in a direction of movement. The head assembly is supported outside the slide for tilting about a pivot axis in order to effect a slanted position of the operating key relative to the safety switch when turning the locking wheel.

  • Patent number: 5622253
Abstract: A safety switch with a contact-carrying spring-loaded plunger includes in a housing portion with two access openings for selective insertion by an actuator. Accommodated in the housing portion is a switching and locking mechanism with a switch wheel that is rotatably mounted on an axle. Positioned in a cutout on each side of the switch wheel is a locking member which is displaceably disposed against the force of a spring substantially radially to the axle. The locking member has two ramp surfaces respectively associated to the access openings and adapted for cooperation with the actuator for shift in radial direction. Each locking member has a locking zone in form of a keyed bore in the passage area of the axle to cooperate with a keyed portion of the axle to securely fix the axle in place.
