An upper part (20) retains the attaching means (14). Receiving means (24) can receive a frangible seal (26) and prevent retraction of the frangible seal (26), except by fracture thereof. Means (28) limits access to the attaching means (14) and the receiving means (24). The security device (10) includes an area of weakness (30) adapted to fracture if the security device (10) is prised from the container.

The buckle may be used to secure the contents of a container, such as a cash box, against unauthorized tampering.

The first portion has at least one detent. The first and second portions lie in a single plane and each detent protrudes out of that plane. The invention also provides a container and lid combination, comprising a container having a first compartment for containing foods and a second compartment isolated from the first compartment. The combination has a lid capable of sliding onto the container to cover both the first and second compartments. The second compartment has an aperture for receiving a security seal. The lid includes a third compartment adapted to mate with the second compartment.

    Abstract: A door latch release mechanism has a housing adapted for mounting in a door jamb, a striker mounted on a shaft in the housing for pivotal movement between a door lock tongue engagement position and a door lock tongue release position, and a stop mounted in the housing. The stop has a portion capable of contacting the striker so as to latch the striker and prevent pivoting thereof from the door lock tongue engagement position. This portion of the stop is generally semi-circular in cross section. The stop is rotatable on its axis so that rotation of the stop to an effective extent releases the striker.
