Abstract: A bicycle includes a frame, a storage compartment, a battery pack, a pedal assist unit, and a lighting system. The frame includes a head tube, a stem, a down tube, a central hub, and a pair of chain stays. The central hub defines an internal cavity. The down tube and the central hub cooperatively define a battery opening connected to the internal cavity. The storage compartment includes a door positioned to selectively enclose an opening in the down tube. The battery pack is releasably received by the battery opening. The pedal assist unit is disposed within the internal cavity. The lighting system includes one or more taillights integrated into the chain stays, a conspicuity lamp integrated into the head tube, and/or a headlight integrated into to at least one of the stem or the head tube.

Abstract: A system for providing adaptive cruise control in a motorcycle. The system includes an electronic controller configured to determine the presence of a vehicle on one side of a direct path of travel of the motorcycle based on data received from a transceiver, the vehicle within a field of view of the transceiver. The electronic controller locks the motorcycle with the vehicle and dynamically controls the speed of the motorcycle based on an output of a kinematic controller, wherein the kinematic controller configured to receive an input including at least one of an item selected from the group consisting of distance of the motorcycle to the vehicle, velocity of the vehicle, velocity of the motorcycle, a cruise set speed associated with the motorcycle, a desired separation distance between the motorcycle and the vehicle, and a desired separation time between the motorcycle and the vehicle.

Abstract: A cylinder head assembly is for an internal combustion engine. The cylinder head assembly includes a cylinder head and first and second valves coupled to the cylinder head. The first and second valves are associated with a combustion chamber partially defined by the cylinder head. The cylinder head assembly also includes a fixed member coupled to the cylinder head and a valve bridge engageable with the first and second valves. The valve bridge is axially moveable along an axis relative to the fixed member to move the first and second valves together between an open position and a closed position. The cylinder head assembly further includes an anti-rotation feature between the valve bridge and the fixed member. The anti-rotation feature restricts rotational movement of the valve bridge about the axis.

Abstract: A saddle-ride vehicle includes a forward travel sensor a brake that decelerates the vehicle by actuation of a rider-operable brake control. A controller identifies a trigger for an autonomous braking event for the brake. A rider sensor system is in electrical communication with the controller and includes one or both of: a rider cognition sensor operable to detect parameters of rider cognition and report rider cognition status to the controller, and a rider physical sensor operable to detect parameters of a physical engagement between a rider and the vehicle and report rider physical engagement status to the controller. The controller is programmed to perform one or both of the following in response to the identification of the autonomous braking event trigger: checking for a positive cognitive engagement of the rider with the rider cognition sensor, and checking for a positive physical engagement of the rider with the rider physical sensor.

Abstract: An air intake assembly includes a filter element and an intake conduit having a first end supporting the filter element. The first end forms an inlet opening having a first shape and a second end being adapted for attachment to an engine. The second end forms an outlet opening having a second shape different than the first shape of the inlet opening. The intake conduit also includes a body having an inner wall defining a passageway coupling the inlet and outlet openings. The inner wall has a maximum lateral dimension measured transverse to a central axis of the passageway within a plane that interests both the inlet and outlet openings. The maximum lateral dimension is located adjacent the outlet opening.
