Patent number: 9682499Abstract: There is a molding assembly that comprises a jaw holding assembly having a base member that is joined to a workpiece locating member. The workpiece locating member is joined to a riser member, and a rail is mounted on the riser member and a carriage is supported on the rail. The molding assembly includes a jaw holder that is mounted on the carriage, and the jaw holder supports first and second forming dies, and each has an internal rib that abut one another when the first and second dies are brought together. Together the dies form an elliptical rib having an elliptical shaped curved surface. A workpiece having an O-ring recess and parting line protrusions is positioned between the first and second forming dies, and the dies are heated and melt the parting line protrusions. An O-ring is disposed in the O-ring recess to form a leak proof seal.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2015Date of Patent: June 20, 2017Assignee: Harmac Medical Products, Inc.Inventor: James Wagner

Patent number: 5346477Abstract: Apparatus for regulating pressure in and for controllably pressurizing infusion devices includes a flow-through pressure gauge for indicating and regulating the pressures within such infusion devices between minimum and maximum desirable pressures. Such apparatus includes a gauge, coupled between a fluid source and the bladder portion of the pressure infusion device. The gauge receives pressurized fluid from the fluid source, provides fluid to the bladder, indicates a range of fluid pressures in the bladder and maintains the pressure of fluid in the bladder between minimum and maximum pressures. The gauge includes a telescopingly coupled member to indicate a range of pressures in the bladder. A first valve permits the passage of fluid through the gauge and into the bladder when the fluid pressure exceeds a minimum pressure. A second valve prevents the passage of fluid through the gauge and into the bladder when the fluid pressure exceeds a maximum pressure.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1991Date of Patent: September 13, 1994Assignee: Harmac Medical Products, Inc.Inventors: Floyd V. Edwards, Norman M. Strobel

Patent number: 5324267Abstract: A check valve for disposable pressure infusion systems having an inflation bulb with a single open end includes a valve body with a pair of intake ports and a discharge port. Disposed at such single open end of the inflation bulb, one of the intake ports permits a flow of pressurizing air from the inflation bulb when squeezed to a pressure cuff through flexible tubing coupled to the discharge port. A flexible diaphragm having slitted openings is disposed within the check valve which provides for opening and closure of a specific port alternatively during squeezes and release of the inflation bulb.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1992Date of Patent: June 28, 1994Assignee: Harmac Medical Products, Inc.Inventor: Scott H. DeWitt

Patent number: 5053011Abstract: A disposable pressure cuff for use in pressurizing an infusion bag includes a bladder formed of a flexible laminate to have a pair of opposed flaps, between which the lateral edges of a transparent sheet are attached to provide a pocket for holding the infusion bag. Linear joints are provided at the point where the edges are attached to the flaps, each such linear joint with a pair of corner joints having improved peel strength.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1989Date of Patent: October 1, 1991Assignee: Harmac Medical Products, Inc.Inventors: Norman M. Strobel, Donald E. Nitsche

Patent number: 5053012Abstract: Pressure infusion apparatus for controllably pressurizing infusion bags includes a flow-through pressure gauge for indicating the pressures within such infusion bags between minimum and maximum desirable pressures. A lower housing member includes a chamber and an inlet to the chamber for receiving a flow of fluid from suitable sources of pressurized fluid. A resilient member seals the chamber and is used in cooperation with telescoping members in a downstream portion of the gauge for indicating a range of pressures within the chamber from predetermined minimum pressures, below which the gauge will not indicate, and predetermined maximum pressures, above which is dangerous for continuing use of the pressure infusion apparatus. The gauge is adaptable for both use in applications which are axial and transverse with respect to the flow of fluid therethrough.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1989Date of Patent: October 1, 1991Assignee: Harmac Medical Products, Inc.Inventors: Floyd V. Edwards, Norman M. Strobel

Patent number: 5025829Abstract: A check valve, including an inlet housing portion and outlet housing portion which are adapted to be snap-fit together, is inexpensively and quickly produced using valve disks which are capable of providing variable fluid flow resistance. The valve disk is stamped from flexible materials having a Shore A durometer hardness in the range of from about thirty to about one hundred (e.g., a thermoplastic elastomer). Flat, circular shapes having at least three, arcuately-shaped windows defined therein, with an outer sealing periphery being joined to a circular closing member by webs which separate the windows, provide a valve disk of substantial manufacture ease.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1990Date of Patent: June 25, 1991Assignee: Harmac Medical Products, Inc.Inventors: Floyd V.
