  • Publication number: 20130228296
Abstract: A window security screen and latch assembly are disclosed. The window security screen includes a screen frame, an infill attached to the screen frame and a latch assembly attached to the screen frame. The latch assembly includes a latch housing, a locking pin extending through the latch housing and through a side of the screen frame to establish a locked position, and a latch release disposed within the latch housing. The latch release is biased to prevent the locking pin from moving from the locked position in the absence of an external force applied to the latch release, the locking pin being movable between the locked position and an unlocked position when the external force is applied to the latch release.

  • Patent number: 6986532
Abstract: A saddle tee and tap combination for making a fluid connection with an irrigation line in an irrigation system. The saddle tee includes a base having a passage therethrough, and a clamp thereon for engaging an irrigation line. The clamp holds the irrigation line in alignment with the passage, and compresses the irrigation line into an generally oval cross-section elongated in the direction of the axis of the passageway. The tap has a tip with a pointed end adapted to be inserted into the passageway so that the pointed end penetrates the wall of the irrigation line engaged in the clamp, in the direction of the elongation of the cross section.

  • Patent number: 6773036
Abstract: A saddle tee and saddle tee tap combination for making fluid connections with an irrigation line. The saddle tee comprises a body having first and second ends, and a passage therethrough, and a clamp on the second end of the body engaging the irrigation line in alignment with the passage, the clamp being larger than the irrigation line. In one embodiment the clamp defines first and second cross sectional areas for receiving the irrigation line, and an insert separating the first and second areas and confining the irrigation line to the first area. In another embodiment, the tap for making a fluid connection has a flange thereon engaging the exterior of the irrigation line in the clamp. In another embodiment the saddle tee includes a resilient member in the clamp for resiliently engaging an irrigation line in the clamp.

  • Patent number: 6051791
Abstract: A waterproof wire connector has a tubular cap and a tubular shoe which is telescopically received in the cap. An electrical connection is made between the contacting ends of a plurality of electrical wires extending through the shoe and hooked in a slot provided at the forward end of the shoe. As the shoe is inserted into the cap, a sealant in the cap is hydraulically injected around the stripped ends of the wires electrically insulating and protecting them from oxidation.

  • Patent number: 5964241
Abstract: A siphon freeze drain valve for an underground water sprinkling system including a line operating under water pressure, the drain valve being a U-shaped tube, one end of which is passed through a hole in the top of the line, the other end of which is outside the line at a lower level than the first end. A clamp and a seal holds the tube in the line against the force of the water in the line and prevents leaking around the tube. A check valve is in the end of the tube outside the line, the check valve selectively opened and closed to control flow through the tube and for establishing a siphon for draining the line.

  • Patent number: 5694972
Abstract: A one-piece saddle tee for installation on a fluid line such as an irrigation line. The saddle tee has a clamp includes a pair of opposing clamp segments having upper, lower and intermediate portions with at least one of the segments being hinged along its intermediate portion to one end of the base. The other of the segments is attached to the other end of the base. Each of the segments has a locking part at its lower end portion cooperating with a locking part of the other of the segments, the locking parts interconnecting the clamp segments when the clamp is pressed onto the line. A coupling tap may be used for punching a hole in the line. Coupling tap is secured to the line with saddle tee.

  • Patent number: 5411568
Abstract: A new method of preparing granular slow release nitrogen fertilizer, exhibiting substantially complete nitrogen availability as a plant nutrient, from nitrogenous organic wastes, such as animal excretia, by coreacting particulate dry conditioned nitrogenous organic waste and reactive ureaformaldehyde oligomer; and the slow release fertilizer exhibiting improved nitrogen availability prepared by the new method. The preconditioning of the waste and the preparation of the reactive oligomer are arranged so that the method for forming the new composition is effectively carried out in a damp dry, free flowing particulate system. Parameters are provided for: dry conditioning the wastes, oligomer forming, coreacting, and granulating.

  • Patent number: 5240490
Abstract: A continuous process for the non-destructive recovery of natural nitrogenous materials as highly available particulate agricultural nutrients, employing natural materials such as poultry waste, waste water treatment sludge, alfalfa meal, hatchery waste, feathermeal, corn gluten meal and bloodmeal in a fluid bed reactor-granulator where basic natural materials are acidified to pHs of 3.0 to 6.5 and formed into hardened particulates during a retention time between 4 and 20 minutes at a temperature between 70.degree. and 120.degree. C. and discharged free of caramelization before nitrogen losses from decomposition amounts to 0.5 percent of the natural nitrogenous materials. The continuous process provides a new natural nitrogenous particulate agricultural nutrient composition free of caramelization.

  • Patent number: 5087474
Abstract: A stepwise method of recovering high integrity particulate feed supplement fats free of live pathogens and malodors from abatoir sludge containing substantial fat components in a vacuum evaporating granulator. The method comprises: primary comminuting aqueous abatoir sludge with strong base until a fluid suspension of finely divided particles is formed; evaporatively heating the suspension until the dry matter amounts to more than 70 percent and the strong base has reacted with the fat component and coagulated the fluid suspension to form soft homogeneous solid agglomerates; secondary comminuting the agglomerates with high speed blades until particles are formed with diameters smaller than 5 millimeters; and setting the particles by heating under vacuum until the particles harden, exhibit no malodors, and are free of live pathogens. A chemical agent such as phosphoric acid or uncondensed urea-formaldehyde concentrate may be additively reacted with the abatoir sludge to ameliorate odors and pathogens.
