Abstract: The present invention provides an efficient audio equalization system in terms of the number of coefficients and taps of a digital filter. The processing efficiency of the system allows it to provide audio equalization with high resolution at low frequencies using a 1/20-th the number of coefficients and taps in equivalent prior art systems. The resulting reduction in cost makes it economical to incorporate the system in hi-fi systems, home theaters, automobiles, televisions, etc. providing significantly improved sound quality with little or no overall increase in cost of production.
