Patents Assigned to Harris Interactive Inc.
  • Patent number: 7912898
Abstract: A system and method is provided for enabling respondents at their computer systems to connect via a browser with a server computer over a network, such as the Internet, and receive an initial set of survey questions on one or more pages during which primary images are downloaded into the browser's cache but are not presented to each respondent as they are each displayed into a small (e.g. 1 by 1) pixel area on display of the respondent's computer system and thus are not detectable by respondents. After receiving answers to such questions for each of the respondents, the server computer directs the browser of each respondent computer with at least one survey question in which the primary image is displayed from the browser's cache for a brief interval of time to the respondent, and the respondent answers the question with respect to the primary image. Different survey questions may be presented to the respondent having different timed displayed primary images.

  • Patent number: 7890387
Abstract: A system and method is provided for enabling respondents at their computer systems to connect with a server computer over a network, such as the Internet, and receive an executable configuration program enabling each respondent to select a single subfeature, or multiple (zero, one, or more) different subfeature attributes or levels, for each of the features of a product. Each of the subfeatures for each feature has a price value and the combination of selected subfeatures for the features of the product provides a total price value of the product. The total price value is displayed and updated as subfeatures for the features are selected or changed by the respondent.

  • Patent number: 7822632
Abstract: A system is provided for enabling respondents at their computer systems to connect with a sever computer over a network, and receive a configuration program enabling each respondent to select for each feature of a product one or multiple subfeature attributes or levels. Each subfeature for each feature has a price value and the combination of selected subfeatures for the features provides a total price of the product. The total price value is displayed and updated as subfeatures for the features are selected or changed. When the total price of the product is acceptable to the respondent, and subfeatures have been selected for each feature of the product, the program returns information to the computer server having data representing the subfeatures selected, the total price, the time taken, and each subfeature selected or changed in arriving at the configured product. The configuration program may be part of a survey.

  • Patent number: 7302475
Abstract: A system and method is provided for enabling respondents at their computer systems to connect via a browser with a server computer over a network and receive an initial set of survey questions on one or more pages during which primary images are downloaded into the browser's cache but are not presented to each respondent as they are each displayed into a small pixel area on display of the respondent's computer system and thus are not detectable or are not discernable by respondents. The server computer directs the browser of each respondent computer with at least one survey question in which the primary image is displayed from the browser's cache for a brief interval of time to the respondent, and the respondent answers the question with respect to the primary image. After each timed displayed primary image, survey question answer(s) are registered at the server computer.

  • Patent number: 7171567
Abstract: A system at a web site addressable by one or more client computers. Each client computer connects to the web site to receive a respondent identifier and a viewer. The viewer at the client computer generates a unique viewer identifier identifying the client computer, and sends that identifier to the web site for registration with the respondent identifier. The viewer connects to the web site and downloads a file with encrypted content information. The viewer requests the web site for a key to decrypt the file. Based on the respondent and viewer identifiers, and the particular survey and exposure limits, a key is sent to the client computer. The viewer decrypts the encrypted file with the key, and then shows the content information in a window. During viewing, the viewer ignores interrupts from the computer's user interface enabling copying, and stops showing the decrypted content if another window is selected.

  • Patent number: 6311190
Abstract: A system for conducting surveys to voters in multiple different languages and registering voters is provided over a network, such as the Internet. The system includes a programmed computer system representing at least one network server which provides an addressable voting site and registration site on the network, and a database storing voting information for building surveys in multiple languages and recording the results of the surveys, and registration information for building registration questionnaires and recording the results of the questionnaires. The network server accesses and updates the records of multiple tables of the database through a transaction server connected to the database. In response to a computer of a voter connecting to the network server over the network, the network server determines the language and country of the voter, and then dynamically constructs a survey in the voter's language in accordance with the voting information stored in the database.
