  • Patent number: 11898774
Abstract: The misting system has, in one embodiment, two seats with misting heads above each seat. A platform supports the seats, a tank, a pump and a power source. A supply line couples the tank-supplied pump and the misters. Removable canopy is mounted above seats by vertical and curvaceous struts and the misters are mounted on the struts. A user actuated UA control on the seat(s) activates pump ON to release mist. Wheels make the module mobile. Battery, solar power, and chiller are options. A countdown timer turns OFF the pump or controllable, inline valves after initial activation of the UA control. A level sensor in the tank alerts the user via a user display. A pressurized system can be used. Multiple modules coupled together are controlled by a master module with master controls.

  • Patent number: 10939785
Abstract: A transfer apparatus for receiving the chair seat of a wheelchair and supporting the chair seat in the base of a washing enclosure. The transfer apparatus has a chair support member including a chair support track section that can be positioned in the washing enclosure base, a bridge portion with a bridge track section that is movably mounted to the chair support member. The transfer apparatus includes a lock system usable to secure the bridge portion in an in-use position and engaged with the wheelchair. A first lock inhibits rotational motion of the bridge portion. The first lock includes a retractable locking member that is biased to an extended, locking position. A second lock is usable to prevent longitudinal separation of the bridge portion and the wheelchair. The first and second lock can be automatically engaged when the bridge portion is moved to the in-use position.

  • Patent number: 10694897
Abstract: A tilting mechanism for a chair that has a seat frame, a seat and a chair back. The tilting mechanism has a track path along which the seat tracks between an upright sitting position and a reclined position. The chair back tracks concurrently between a first position when the seat is in the upright sitting position and a second inclined position when the seat is in the reclined position. The inclination of the chair back increases at a greater rate than the inclination of the seat as the seat moves between the upright sitting position and the reclined position.

  • Patent number: 10597875
Abstract: A safety grip system comprises first and second support structures wherein the second support structure extends transverse to the first support structure. The first support structure is provided with a first longitudinally extending safety grip at one end thereof. The first longitudinally extending safety grip on the end of the first support structure has an opening therethrough through which the second support structure extends, whereby the first longitudinally extending safety grip is non-rotatably secured to the first support structure. A second longitudinally extending safety grip is provided on the first support structure and has engagement members that inter-engage engagement members provide don the first longitudinally extending safety grip, whereby the second longitudinally extending safety grip is non-rotatably secured to the first support structure.

Abstract: A transfer apparatus for receiving the chair seat of a wheelchair and supporting the chair seat in the base of a washing enclosure. The transfer apparatus has a chair support member including a chair support track section that can be positioned in the washing enclosure base. The transfer apparatus also has a bridge portion including a bridge track section that is movably mounted to the chair support member. The bridge portion transitions between a storage position and an in-use position. In the in-use position the bridge portion is engaged with the wheelchair and the bridge track section is aligned with the chair support track section. The chair seat can be translated from the wheelchair along the bridge track section to the chair support track section when the bridge portion is in the in-use position and engaged with the wheelchair.

  • Patent number: 5316013
Abstract: The oriented biopsy needle assembly includes a cannula hub assembly having a cannula hub fixedly attached to the proximal end of a cannula and a barrel member integral with the proximal end of the cannula hub. The barrel member and cannula hub have longitudinally coaxial bore therethrough axially aligned with and extending to the cannula. A pair of inwardly flexible finger pinching arms formed integral with and extending lengthwise over the outer surface of the barrel member are aligned opposite to each other, and each arm has an inwardly extending detent positioned to be downwardly flexed into oppositely aligned corresponding cutout slots of the barrel member. The cannula hub assembly cooperates with a stylet hub at a proximal end, a shoulder portion at a distal end of the hub, and a distal stem portion extending distally from the shoulder portion and terminating at a distal end fixedly attached to the proximal end of a sampling stylet.

  • Patent number: 5249582
Abstract: The oriented biopsy needle assembly includes a cannula hub assembly having a cannula hub fixedly attached to the proximal end of a cannula and a leg extending proximally from the proximal end of the cannula hub.. The cannula hub has a longitudinal coaxial bore therethrough axially aligned with and extending to the cannula. A stylet hub assembly fixedly attached to a sampling stylet includes a stylet hub at a proximal end, a shoulder portion, and a stem portion extending distally from the shoulder portion and terminating at a distal tip member. The distal tip member is slidably received on a rail of the leg extending proximally from the cannula hub to avoid undesirable rotational movement of the stylet and allow longitudinal movement of the stylet hub assembly on the rail only when the distal tip member is oriented such that the sharpened distal ends of the cannula and sampling stylet are oppositely directed.

  • Patent number: 5199920
Abstract: An amusement device including an elongate handle and a chamber defined at each of the opposite ends of the handle. An eccentric weight rotated under power is located in one chamber, and rotation of the weight produces vibrations in the device. Loose material composed of relatively movable members is confined within the other chamber. The loose material is set in motion with vibrations produced in the device.

  • Patent number: 4950265
Abstract: The arming device for use in manipulating with one hand a medical instrument comprises first and second telescoping members. The instrument members are longitudinally movable relative to one another, and the device comprises an arcuate flexible member having a forward portion and a rearward portion with means at the forward portion for engaging the first member of the instrument and means at the rearward portion for engaging the second member whereby squeezing of the flexible member laterally toward the instrument causes the first and second telescoping members to move longitudinally away from each other thereby to cause arming or operation of the instrument.

  • Patent number: 4907599
Abstract: The soft tissue core biopsy instrument comprises a proximal outer barrel member and a distal inner barrel member which is slidably received within the outer barrel member. A cannula driver is slidably received within the distal inner barrel member and has a distally extending cannula fixed thereto. A stylet extends distally from a stylet hub with a stylet hub being removably attached to the proximal outer barrel member. A spring is positioned within the inner barrel member between a proximal wall thereof and a proximal wall of the cannula driver for biasing the cannula driver forwardly and a latching mechanism for latching the cannula driver in a proximally retracted position against the action of spring is also provided. A trigger for unlatching the latching mechanism may be actuated to allow the spring to quickly return to its forwardly biased position, shooting or forcing the cannula driver to a distally extended position, projecting the cannula over said stylet.
