Patent number: 4291489Abstract: A wheeled push toy including a housing and a push rod. A first action element is adapted to move up and down in a generally continuous fashion with respect to the housing while a second action element is adapted to be intermittently propelled up the push rod a short distance and fall back by gravity. The action of the above described elements is controlled by the movement of the supporting wheels of the toy and preferably in a fashion such that the intermittent movement of the second action element is produced only upon forwardly pushing the toy in contrast to rearwardly pulling such.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1980Date of Patent: September 29, 1981Assignee: Hasbro Industries, Inc.Inventor: Thomas C. McCarthy, Jr.

Patent number: 4270305Abstract: A toy wheeled vehicle having a plurality of wheel assemblies each of which includes an axle and a wheel. Each axle terminates in an enlarged flange having various respective geometric configurations. The generally cylindrical wheels include a radial web or wall having an opening disposed therethrough. The configuration of each wheel openings corresponds to one of the various geometric configurations of the axle such that each wheel is adapted for mounting only to its complementary shaped axle such that a child may learn shape coordination while assembling the vehicle for later conventional play.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1979Date of Patent: June 2, 1981Assignee: Hasbro Industries, Inc.Inventor: Donald H. Patent number: 4263348Abstract: For striping pencils, paint is extruded through die orifices in the walls of a passage through which the pencil is advanced longitudinally. The orifices are formed in lands which engage corresponding side regions of the pencil and guide the pencil through the passage. The passage is formed in a block having parts that are supported for relative movement along guide rods and are urged together resiliently. Each block part may have at least one paint reservoir with a duct extending from the reservoir and terminating in a die orifice. The paint, which is supplied to the reservoirs under pressure from a separate source moves longitudinally of the pencil in shallow channels as it issues from the orifices and spreads laterally to an extent depending upon viscosity of the paint, forming stripes of width greater than that of the orifices.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1979Date of Patent: April 21, 1981Assignee: Hasbro Industries, Inc.Inventor: Charles G. Renegar

Patent number: 4249733Abstract: A racing toy including a pair of side-by-side main tracks defining down-hill paths for a pair of gravity operated vehicles. The opposite ends of each track are spaced from each other and a pair of pivotal ramps are disposed in such space so as to in effect interconnect such ends. Each ramp has a vehicle receiving portion at one end and an angularly disposed launching portion and is pivotally supported adjacent the initial elevated end of its respective main track. The ramp may be alternatively moved from a lowermost vehicle receiving position to an elevated vehicle launching position so as to in effect form continuous closed loop trackways around which the vehicles may cycle a desired number of turns. The means for elevating the ramps include outwardly projecting handles for the participants of the toy to appropriately manipulate the respective vehicles across the space defined by the track ends.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1979Date of Patent: February 10, 1981Assignee: Hasbro Industries, Inc.Inventors: Fred D. Eddins, Sidney Tepper

Patent number: 4221388Abstract: A game in which a pair of game pieces are progressively moved back and forth along a game board. Each of the pieces includes a plurality of longitudinally oriented segments delineated by different colors arranged in the same sequence on each piece. The play is effected by progressive moves determined by a color selection device such that each moving piece is shifted longitudinally with respect to the game board and the non-moving piece such that the same colored segments thereof are laterally aligned. Dependent on the colors selected on progressive moves, one or both of the game pieces will move toward or away from its goal at an opposite end of the game board.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1979Date of Patent: September 9, 1980Assignee: Hasbro Industries, Inc.Inventor: Edward Carini

Patent number: 4213266Abstract: A tumbling toy having an end-over-end tumbling action and including a hollow housing having spaced end caps, an outer sleeve and an inner tubular member joined to the end caps and receiving a weighted ball for rolling action therein, the weighted ball having rolling movement between the end caps to produce the tumbling end-over-end action of the housing when an exterior force is applied thereto or when the tumbling toy is placed on a downwardly inclined surface.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1978Date of Patent: July 22, 1980Assignee: Hasbro Industries, Inc.Inventors: Joseph F. Hyland, Barbara B. Hyland, A. Edward Fogarty, Bonnie R. Fogarty, Frank A. Spinale

Patent number: 4196539Abstract: A toy assembly is presented wherein board means is adapted to receive a plurality of separate light transmitting pegs. The board means generally forms the bottom wall of an enclosure in turn provided with a generally planar cover such that the pegs and other includable portions of the toy may be conveniently stored therein. The inner surface of the cover is provided with a light reflective surface that is upwardly disposed when the cover has been removed and attached to the toy so as to serve as a support for the board means. The board means is disposed at an acute angular relationship to the reflective surface such that light incidence upon said surface is reflected to those peg portions disposed in the board means. This construction eliminates the need of an included light source with the toy as well as forming of a self-contained storage and transport container.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1978Date of Patent: April 8, 1980Assignee: Hasbro Industries, Inc.Inventor: Samuel F.
