Patent number: 5363760Abstract: A rotor unit comprises a rotor cylinder which is fastened to a shaft and is rotatably supported via an external bearing. A gear motor is arranged in the interior, which gear motor drives a first double gear wheel in both rotating directions (a, b) via its power take-off shaft and a pinion. The double gear wheel is supported on a disk and a bearing plate in a freewheel bearing and engages with a second double gear wheel. In one rotating direction (b), the freewheel bearing locks the toothed wheel, so that the latter, rigidly together with the disk, is carried along by the pinion. In this way, the second double gear wheel engages serially with one intermediate gear in each instance, wherein every such engagement is exactly positioned by means of a ball catch. In the other rotating direction (a), the motor in each instance turns a number wheel via the aforementioned gears and accordingly sets e.g. one digit of the postage meter machine's value stamp.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1991Date of Patent: November 15, 1994Assignee: Ascom Hasler AGInventors: Johann Lindenmueller, Alois Wagner

Patent number: 5060821Abstract: A label dispenser (10) includes a storage container (13) for labels (11). A withdrawal roller (15) is in contact with the labels (11) and is supported together with a gear-wheel pinion (17) and a free-wheeling bearing (19) at the storage container (13). The pinion (17) is engaged with a fixed-position gear rack (23). As soon as the finger pressure actuates the server plate (29), the storage container (13) is pressed downwardly, the gear-wheel pinion (17) rotates the withdrawal roller (15) such that the outermost label is pushed out downwardly out of the storage container (13). The outermost label is then gripped by a transport roller pair and can be transported off. As soon as the finger pressure is released, a helical spring (37) slides the storage container (13) back into the starting position. In this case, a hollow cylinder (33), together with an air valve (39) furnishes a braking of the speed, while the free-wheeling bearing (19) runs freely.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 1989Date of Patent: October 29, 1991Assignee: Ascom Hasler AGInventors: Erwin Berger, Christian Moy

Patent number: 5045771Abstract: A voltage control regulator features a power switch in the form of a transistor that is normally actuated for a constant switch-on time interval during each variable period interval (T). The type of control required in this case comprises, conventionally, a monostable multivibrator, a controller, and a voltage/frequency converter. The present control system is subordinated to an emergency control circuit which, via a priority loop, intervenes in the control process as soon as the current flowing through the switching transistor threatens to become excessive. This emergency control unit thus constitutes a predictive type of control that employs knowledge of the operation of the voltage control regulator and the instantaneous values of the input and output voltages of the voltage control regulator, in order to predict the voltage increase during the period interval (T). Such an arrangement permits the emergency control unit to react very quickly.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 1990Date of Patent: September 3, 1991Assignee: Ascom Hasler AGInventor: Andre Kislovski

Patent number: 5032954Abstract: A housing for electronic components that includes a tubular, extruded aluminum, mid-section, a flat or plate-like front panel and a die-cast double-domed rear wall. Arranged in one of the domes of the rear wall is a printed circuit board with first female plugs. Fitting through the second dome, from the outside, are second female plugs, to which outwardly-leading cables are attached. Circuit boards with integrated electronic circuits slide into the housing and are secured laterally by guide grooves integral with the middle section of the housing. The boards, at their frontal edges, make contact through their male plugs with the appropriate ones of the female plugs. The boards are further secured by fitting into notches in a reinforcement rib between the two domes. A strip having three contact points is secured, if desired, to each circuit board for the purpose of reducing mechanical vibration. Each circuit board can be replaced individually. For this purpose, withdrawal arms are provided.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1989Date of Patent: July 16, 1991Assignee: Ascom Hasler AGInventor: Augustin Juza
