  • Patent number: 6191425
Abstract: A plurality of samples are separated into sample components by means of electrophoresis in a plurality of capillaries. Light is radiated onto the separated sample components. Fluorescence emitted from the sample components is measured by a detector unit. In the detector unit, the fluorescence from the sample components is collected by a lens, filtered by a filter set to select light of predetermined wavelengths, split into four bundle of rays by right-angle prisms, and focussed on four linear array sensors so as to be detected.

  • Patent number: 5441834
Abstract: When the data of a mask pattern of a phase shift mask is to be made, the pattern data is separated into a real pattern data layer having the data of real patterns and a phase shift pattern data layer having the data of phase shift patterns. After this, it is verified whether or not the mask pattern satisfies the regulation of the gap of in-phase patterns, in which lights having transmitted through patterns adjacent to each other are in phase. It is also verified whether or not the mask pattern satisfies the regulation of the gap of out-of-phase patterns, in which lights having transmitted through patterns adjacent to each other are out of phase.

  • Patent number: 5259038
Abstract: A point pattern matching method and system for use in an object recognizing system for deciding pair combinations between a first group of n points x.sub.j (n: integer of 2 or more) (j: integer between 1 and n) in a K-dimensional space (K: integer of 2 or more) and a second group of n second points x.sub.i (i: integer between 1 and n) in the same space as the K-dimensional space. A total of n.sup.2 of neurons are provided one for each one of point pair combinations between the first group of points and the second group of points, and, when an output of each of the neurons has a value of substantially "1", it is determined that the point pair combination associated with the neuron is matched, whereas, when the output of the neuron has a value of substantially "0", it is determined that the point pair combination associated with the neuron is not matched.

  • Patent number: 5200348
Abstract: A semiconductor device employing a new isolation process is disclosed, wherein an isolation area is a region in which a burying material is buried in a deep groove formed in a semiconductor body with a substantially constant width by anisotropic dry etching, semiconductor elements are formed in selected ones of semiconductor regions isolated by the isolation area, and others of the semiconductor regions, with no semiconductor element formed therein, have their whole surface covered with a thick oxide film which is produced by the local oxidation of the semiconductor body. The new isolation process is well-suited for a bipolar type semiconductor device, wherein the deep groove is formed so as to reach a semiconductor substrate through an N.sup.+ -type buried layer, and a thick oxide film formed simultaneously with the aforementioned thick oxide film isolates the base region and collector contact region of a bipolar transistor.

  • Patent number: 5091667
Abstract: A direct current machine is characterized in that each of field poles and an armature are formed to satisfy a condition that an internal peripheral width Wa of each auxiliary pole is equal to or greater than a distal end width Wt of each tooth and equal to or less than twice a distal end width Ws of each slot plus the distal end width of each tooth (Wt.ltoreq.Wa.ltoreq.2Ws+Wt). The D.C. machine also is characterized in that each of the field poles and the armature are formed to satisfy a condition that an inner peripheral width Wm of the permanent magnet is equal to or greater than twice a slot pitch Wp of the armature core and equal to or less than twice the slot pitch Wp plus the distal end width Wt of each tooth (2Wp.ltoreq.Wm.ltoreq.2Wp+Wt).

  • Patent number: 4889471
Abstract: In a scroll compressor, an open end of an oil extraction pipe which is placed in oil stored in a bottom portion of a hermetic casing is positioned at a location higher than an open end of an oil suction pipe that opens in the same stored oil, and a thermostat is provided for sensing a temperature rise of a compressed gas to cause the compressor to be stopped. Accordingly, even when an amount of oil injected into the compressed gas decreases, an amount of oil necessary for lubrication of a bearing portion is assured. The provision of the thermostat enables the compressor to be stopped before an amount of supply of the lubrication oil to the bearing portion has decreased. It is, accordingly, possible to positively prevent burning of the bearing portion of a crankshaft.
