  • Patent number: 6658913
Abstract: In a multistage forming machine, an apron is screwed to a press slide. At its upper end, the apron has six elongated clamping cams, distributed over its width, while four upwardly projecting clamping lugs are fitted at is lower end. Suspended in the apron is a combined tool block with a wedge-shaped supporting plate. Four clamping lugs, distributed over the width, are formed at the upper end of the supporting plate, while four clamping cams are formed at the lower end. The clamping lugs of the combined tool block are suspended by means of the clamping cams of the apron, while the clamping cams of the combined tool block are inserted between the clamping lugs and the main part of the apron. By means of two clamping devices, a clamping force acting in the vertical direction of the combined tool block is produced, bringing about a clamping of the combine tool block and the press slide in the horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 5156073
Abstract: A method and apparatus achieve the intermittent feeding of raw material into a shearing station by exerting a drive torque on draw-in rollers in order to effect their rotation in one arcuate direction and hence the movement of the raw material toward the shearing station. A counteracting torque, which is less than the drive torque, is continuously exerted on the draw-in rollers. Thus, during intervals following a shearing operation when the drive torque is terminated, the counteracting torque functions to reverse the rotation of the draw-in rollers and hence retract the sheared end of the raw material away from the shearing station.

  • Patent number: 4590780
Abstract: Starting from a pre-heated bar, there is sheared-off first a portion (41) which, in a first forming stage of the machine, is formed into a tier shaped pressed article. In the second forming stage, the pressed article is further formed so that it has an inner ring (J), an outer ring (A) arranged co-axially to this and a radial annular web (S) connecting the two rings (J,A). The sheared-off outer ring (44) is therefore ejected in the next to last stage, while in the last working stage the inner ring (45) separated from the outer ring is subjected to further working. This last working stage involves stamping out a waste piece (35) and shearing-off an annular web (38). It is also possible to carry out a forming operation in this last working stage to upset the remaining inner ring (22a).

  • Patent number: 4333329
Abstract: Apparatus for periodically sensing and cooling the end face of one or more rams of an automatic cross transport press. In a cross transport press, on the press frame (1) there is mounted a sensing rocker (9) which executes a periodical rocking movement about a horizontal axis (A) in the work rhythm of a carriage (2) provided with rams (5). The movement of the sensing rocker (9) is transmitted from the carriage (2) through a connecting rod (20), a transmission lever (17) and the two rocker arms (8) to sensing elements (27) equipped with cooling sprinklers. The slightly angled transmission lever (17) rests upon a stop (15) and is retained upon the stop (15) by a spring (25). If a sensing element (27) encounters an obstacle, then the press is stopped; simultaneously the transmission lever (17) lifts from the stop counter to the return force of the spring (25), whereby any damage is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4250730
Abstract: A device for the ejection of a shaped part at the male die on a cross-feed press for non-cutting metal shaping is equipped with an ejector which is controlled by the crank-pin of a crankshaft via a connecting link, a cam disc and a roller arm. The cam contour P of the cam disc has an arc K concentric to the rocker shaft and joined to a straight section G and a runout section L. The cam disc has a displaceable cam shoe the outer edge of which is located in the plane of the straight section G and which extends or shortens the straight section G when shifted. This ensures that the standstill condition of the ejector with respect to the female die, required for holding the shaped part, may be retained even when adjustments are made to the length of the stroke of the ejector at the male die at the cam disc.

  • Patent number: 4227390
Abstract: The present invention relates to transfer mechanism for multiple punch presses with two co-operating pairs of conveyor tongs which are fixed to a carrier element. The carrier element is movably mounted in a housing and driven to-and-fro to the operating rhythm of the punch press. The carrier element includes a bore effective to direct a lubricating fluid therethrough. Lubricating lines supply lubricating fluid to the bore at a desired fluid pressure. The bore has an outlet opening contiguous to the structure which incorporates the conveyor tongs. In the event that the conveyor tongs break away from the carrier element, the outlet opening of the bore is uncovered and the fluid pressure drops. The power supply to the press and the lubricating fluid supply are stopped in response to such a pressure drop.

  • Patent number: 4036089
Abstract: The assembly is for shearing rod sections with a movable cutter carriage carrying a shearing blade between a resting position and a shearing position. A reciprocating impact head is used to drive the cutter carriage. The impact head is moved into contact with an adjacent end of the cutter carriage to effect motion of the cutter carriage to the shearing position. The cutter carriage is biased toward the impact head and the resting position to effect the return stroke motion of the cutter carriage. The contact of the impact head with the adjacent end of the cutter carriage is broken on completion of the return stroke to draw the impact head a predetermined distance back to a starting position from which the impact head is ready to strike the adjacent end of the cutter carriage with considerable momentum upon the starting of the next shearing cycle.

  • Patent number: 4028918
Abstract: Device for applying lubricant to the workpiece and/or working surface of the punch of a multistage forging press. Channels are provided between the stepped holding pin of the punch and the wall of the stepped bore in which the holding pin reciprocates. The channels are connected via the interior of the punch to an external lubricant reservoir. The space formed with each stroke of the punch between the shoulders of the holding pin and its stepped bore acts as a pumping space. Each punch stroke causes lubricant to be drawn from the reservoir into the pumping space and subsequently forced out through the channels. Means are also provided by which the supply of lubricant from the reservoir can be more closely regulated in time with the working stroke of the press.
