The filter can be cleaned either continuously or intermittently by ultra sound vibration and/or backpressure within the filter system. This invention is appropriate for use in industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial and municipal processing and/or wastewater treatment applications where the removal of undesired contaminants is desired.
