    Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to butterfly valves, generally including a body assembly and handle assembly. The body assembly generally includes a body, a disc rotationally disposed inside an opening of the body, a cog, and a stem passing through the disc and the body. The handle assembly generally includes a handle body and a force ring. The stem can be rotationally interlocked relative to the disc and the handle assembly. The cog and the force ring can engage to rotationally secure the disc relative to the body. The handle assembly can include a lever and a grip, the force ring, the lever and the grip being pivotally secured relative to each other. The body can include a male radial protrusion and the body assembly can include a liner with a female radial groove. Methods of assembling and positioning a butterfly valve are also provided.

    Abstract: Debris filtration and strainer systems for a fluid handling device are provided herein. The strainer systems can include one or more of a strainer basket, a removable insert, and an adapter for removably engaging the removable insert with the strainer basket. The removable insert includes a liner having a plurality of openings that are the same size as, or smaller than, the openings of a the strainer basket, and which is inserted into the strainer basket to capture debris from water passing therethrough, preventing clogging of the strainer basket and reducing the frequency of cleanings of the strainer basket. The liner can be fabricated from a biodegradable material, and thus can be easily removed, disposed of, and replaced. The removable insert can include a rigid connection tab with one or more features for removably engaging the strainer basket and/or an adapter positioned between the strainer basket and the removable insert.

    Abstract: A light includes a body, a front housing secured to a front end of the body, a translating retainer rotatably engaged with the front housing, a slip ring positioned around the front housing and between the translating member and the front end of the body, a compressible ring positioned around the front housing and between the slip ring and the front end of the body, a lens mounted to the front housing, an electronic assembly, and a light emitting element in electrical communication with the electronic assembly and positioned within the lens. Rotation of the translating retainer in a first direction causes the translating retainer to drive the slip ring toward the front end of the body, compressing the compressible ring and causing the compressible ring to bulge outward to contact, and removably engage, an inner wall of a pipe or conduit that the light is positioned in.

    Abstract: A swivel component allows a power cable to a pool or spa component, to swivel when the inductive power couplings are coupled. The couplings include a first inductive coupling that can be positioned within and/or mounted into a wall fitting, a second inductive coupling that inductively couples with the first inductive coupling, a swivel component attached to the second inductive coupling for allowing the second coupling to swivel with respect to the first inductive coupling, and a retainer ring that engages with the wall fitting and retains the first and second couplings and the swivel component in position within the wall fitting. A power cable is connected at one end to the second inductive power coupling and at an opposite end to a pool or spa component, such as an electric cleaner. Swiveling of the second power coupling relative to the first power coupling reduces kinking of the power cable.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling chlorinators for pools and spas are provided. A controller communicates with a processor positioned within a replaceable cell cartridge of a chlorinator, to allow for remote control and diagnosis of the chlorinator and/or cell cartridge. The cell cartridge stores, in non-volatile memory on board the cartridge, one or more parameters associated with the cartridge. The controller can obtain this information from the processor of the cell cartridge, and can use same to configure operation of the chlorinator. Information relating to remaining cell life can be updated by the controller and stored in the non-volatile memory of the cell cartridge. Electrical and software-based mechanisms are provided for ensuring operation of only compatible cell cartridges with the chlorinator. A system for remotely diagnosing errors associated with the chlorinator is also provided.

The drive pinion is positionable in a plurality of positions to drive a nose cone that steers the suction cleaning device. The locomotion system includes first and second A-frame arms that respectively engage first and second bearings about first and second eccentrics of a turbine. Rotation of the turbine causes the first and second A-frame arms to rotate back and forth driving associated walking pod assemblies. The turbine includes a turbine rotor and a plurality of vanes connected to the turbine rotor.     Abstract: Systems and methods for sanitizing pool and spa water are provided. An electrolytic chlorinator is provided which includes a combined flow, temperature, and salt concentration sensor. The electrolytic chlorinator could include an acid tank for in-situ cleaning of the electrolytic chlorinator or acidification of pool/spa water where needed. A delayed polarity reversal technique is provided for de-scaling and managing passivation of the blades of an electrolytic chlorinator. The electrolytic chlorinator could include a sacrificial anode for protecting components of the chlorinator as well as other pool/spa components. The electrolytic chlorinator could include an integral, electrically-controlled acid generator, a brine tank for periodically superchlorinating and/or shocking pool/spa water, and/or a plurality of chemical tanks/feeds for periodically injecting chemicals into the chlorinator.
