Abstract: Provided is a keystone jack for use as a port in a wired computing network. The keystone jack includes a housing, a plug receptacle within the housing configured to receive a plug connector therein, a termination portion of the housing for connecting a network cable thereto, a first circuit disposed between the plug receptacle and the termination portion, a plurality of conductive terminals disposed within the plug receptacle and configured for defining together with the first circuit and the termination portion a communication channel for electrically communicating between the plug receptacle and the termination portion, and an interfacing unit being in electric communication with the first circuit and configured for interfacing with a detachably attachable supplementary electric unit to provide electrical communication thereof with said at least a portion of the communication channel.

Abstract: A method of analyzing patching among a first port of a first panel and ports of one or more other panels, comprising obtaining with respect to the first port of the first panel an indication of multiple concurrent patchings between the first port and each of two or more different ports of other panels, the two or more different ports including at least a second port and a third port; injecting a scan signal between the first port and the second port and sensing for a corresponding returned signal between the second and the third ports; determining that an indication of a patching between the first port and the second port is false when a returned signal corresponding to the scan signal is detected between the second and the third ports.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system configured to monitor devices that are physically connected over a data network, said system comprising at least one scanner configured to monitor said data network and to determine devices that are physically connected over said data network, said at least one scanner being connected to at least one panel over said data network, wherein at least one terminal of each panel is connected to an electronic circuitry, which comprises one or more electronic components, for enabling said at least one scanner to determine changes in one of voltage or current level over at least one of said one or more electronic components, said changes occurring due to connecting or disconnecting devices over said data network, thereby enabling said at least one scanner to monitor devices that are physically connected over said data network.
