Abstract: A sifting apparatus and container for storing and dispensing material, such as cosmetic powder are described. Two sifters are arranged so their holes are not aligned, and a resilient material is placed between the sifters to create a gap that allows powder to pass out from a storage cavity to a surface accessible by the user. In a second configuration, at least one of the sifters is displaced toward the other sifter to reduce or eliminate the gap, thus reducing or preventing the flow of material through the sifters.

Abstract: A dispenser includes a cam path and a mating guide pin to provide a closed position or an open position for the dispenser. The dispenser is selectively rotatable causing the mating guide pin to travel along a cam path to rotate between slanted, unslanted, and slanted downward positions. The mating guide pin in the cam path causes the open position to allow product delivery and causes the closed position to provide a seal to prevent product leakage. In an implementation, the dispenser is selectively guidable along a helical guide slot to an upward position for product application and to a downward position to retract the applicator. When the dispenser is selectively rotatable along the helical guide slot to a retracted position, the dispenser is in a stored state.

The dispenser provides a product delivery passageway through the flow-through gasket when the dispenser is in an open position. The dispenser prevents leakage by providing a seal with the flow-through gasket when the dispenser is in a closed position. In some examples, the flow-through gasket with the concave shape top may be made of a material having elastomeric properties.

Abstract: A cosmetics dispenser apparatus includes a base containing a reservoir for housing a product and a lid containing an interior tapered cap. The reservoir includes an upper portion containing a shape opening, and the tapered cap ends in a shaped projection that is sized to fit into the shaped opening of the reservoir. A hinge connects the lid and the base and is pivotable relative to the base between an open position in which the product is accessible, and a closed position. In the closed position the lid seals the reservoir by inserting the shaped projection into the shaped opening in the reservoir and by compressing the tapered cap into the upper portion of the reservoir.
