Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for to assisting backhaul by user equipment are provided. One system includes a base station (BS) and a plurality of backhaul user equipment (bUE) devices. Each of the plurality of bUE devices are operable to communicate with the BS through a first communication technology, and the plurality of bUE devices are each operable to communicate with a data network through a second communication technology. The BS is operative to communicate with user equipment (UE) devices, and network connect the UE devices to the data network through the bUE devices, select bUE devices for backhaul (BH) traffic, aid in selecting a transmission power level of the bUE devices, or the one or more UE devices, and transmit resource block (RB) scheduling information for the BH traffic of the bUE devices and the access traffic of the one or more UE devices.

One system includes a first base station (BS) and backhaul user equipment (bUE) devices that communicate with the first BS through a first communication technology, and communicate with a data network through a second communication technology. A second base station (BS) communicates with the first BS and a second data network. The first BS is operative to communicate with user equipment (UE) devices, and network connect the UE devices to the data network or the second data network, select the bUE devices or the second BS for backhaul (BH) traffic, aid in selecting the transmission power level of the bUE devices or the UE devices, and transmit resource block (RB) scheduling information for the BH traffic transmission of the bUE devices and access traffic of the UE devices.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for characterizing interference based on scheduling a transmission mode are provided. One method includes wirelessly communicating, by a base station (BS), with a plurality of user equipment (UE), selecting one or more other base stations (BSs) associated with the BS, scheduling the selected one or more other BSs associated with the BS to transmit according to at least one transmission mode during a scheduled transmission, and characterizing, by at least one of the plurality of UE, interference at the UE during the scheduled transmission.
