    Abstract: A patient table apparatus having a pad for supporting a patient with at least two sections, a lower body section which will tilt with respect to an upper body section about an axis transverse to the pad. The apparatus includes a spring mechanism to impart an upward force on the lower body section against the force of gravity on the patient. A motor extends or retracts the spring mechanism and controls for the motor are provided whereby the amount of upward force on the lower body section may be increased or decreased.
