Abstract: A system and method for determining a subject's attentional response to a stimulus. The method includes measuring microsaccadic eye movement dynamics of the subject, detecting whether a microsaccadic signature (a suppression in microsaccadic rate) is present in the measured microsaccadic eye movement relative to a time of the stimulus, and correlating the subject's attentional response to the stimulus based on the detection. The method further includes determining that the stimulus was sensed if the microsaccadic signature is present and determining that the stimulus was not sensed if the microsaccadic signature is absent.

Abstract: A moving bed has a fixed bed part as a resting area for the head and upper body of a person, and a longitudinally moving bed part as a resting area for the buttocks and legs of a person. The bed has a first bed frame in the form of a stationary fixed frame that extends as a stationary longitudinal frame over the entire length of the bed and on which the upper, fixed bed part is formed. The bed has a second bed frame as a moving frame, which forms the lower longitudinally moving bed part; the moving frame is held to the fixed frame so that it can move longitudinally. A motor drive is mounted between the fixed frame and the moving frame, and by this motor drive, the moving frame may be moved alternatingly back and forth relative to the fixed frame in a predetermined longitudinal section.
Abstract: Methods and systems to stratify risks for adverse health outcomes include aggregating data sets culled over a predetermined period of time; adjusting at least two variables within the aggregated data sets; and executing a regression analysis to identify an average causal effect between aggregated variables against at least one particular adverse health outcome.
Abstract: Oxidative stress is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, and has been extensively studied as a potential target for therapeutic intervention. The present disclosure discloses a method for reducing free radicals in a mammal, the method comprises administering a composition containing an effective amount of Baillonella toxisperma extract to a mammal to reduce free radicals in the mammal. Specifically, the present disclosure demonstrates how extracts and flavonoids fractions of Baillonella toxisperma provide antioxidant and neuroprotective benefits and prevent oxidative stress in mammals.

Abstract: The invention provides devices and methods for non-invasive monitoring and measuring of intraocular pressure (IOP) of a subject. Embodiments include a lens that is adapted to fit on the subject's eye, a microstructure disposed in or on the lens, the microstructure having at least one feature that exhibits a change in shape and/or geometry and/or position on the lens in response to a change in curvature of the lens. When the curvature of the lens changes in response to a change in IOP, a corresponding change in shape and/or geometry and/or position of the feature may be used to determine the change in IOP. The change in the feature is detectable in digital images of the lens taken with a mobile electronic device such as a smartphone.

Abstract: A system and methods are provided in which an artificial intelligence inference module identifies targeted information in large-scale unlabeled data, wherein the artificial intelligence inference module autonomously learns hierarchical representations from large-scale unlabeled data and continually self-improves from self-labeled data points using a teacher model trained to detect known targets from combined inputs of a small hand labeled curated dataset prepared by a domain expert together with self-generated intermediate and global context features derived from the unlabeled dataset by unsupervised and self-supervised processes. The trained teacher model processes further unlabeled data to self-generate new weakly-supervised training samples that are self-refined and self-corrected, without human supervision, and then used as inputs to a noisy student model trained in a semi-supervised learning process on a combination of the teacher model training set and new weakly-supervised training samples.

Abstract: A system includes video cameras arranged to monitor a vulnerable person, and a processor system that receives video frames from the video cameras, the processor system comprising a processor and a non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium having machine instructions executed by the processor. The processor detects and identifies objects in a current received video frame, classifies an identified object as the person by applying a facial recognition algorithm that identifies the person, determines a posture of the person by identifying joints, limbs, and body parts, and their respective orientations to each other and to a plane, and immediately discards the current video frame. The processor then determines a change in motion, of the person, between the current received video frame and one or more prior received video frames, and, based on the determined posture and the change in motion, determines that the person has experienced a defined event.
