Abstract: A releasable latch assembly for securely fastening the doors of overhead airline storage bins. The latch securely fastens the door and prevents the release of the door absent the application of an intentional manual force to the latch assembly. The latch assembly provides a means that compensates for movement of the fastened surfaces or for misalignment of the surfaces due to installation tolerances.
