Abstract: The present disclosure sets forth an outdoor security light with the flexibility of being mounted to either a wall structure or to an eave or ceiling structure. The security light can be adjusted for each installation without the necessity of changing hardware elements of the security luminaire. Disclosed designs include a luminaire housing having a housing mount which is removably received within a housing mount attached to a structure. The mechanical and electrical interface between the two may allow a removable engagement with a lock mechanism for an easy installation, while providing electrical power to the luminaire housing and communication therebetween.

Abstract: A universal light mounting box for retrofit is described. The retrofit light mounting box attaches to a junction box and receives electrical power from the junction box cables. The mounting box includes a canopy housing and a camera housing to provide wireless communication of both audio and video capabilities for the area around the junction box while also providing controlled power to a light fixture which is attached to the mounting box. A depending camera housing provides both audio and video signals which can be transmitted from the retrofit canopy housing electronics to a user's device.
Abstract: A security light having optional connection to multiple power supplies. The lighting controller can sense the appropriate connected supply and automatically connect to three different power supplies which include house voltage connection through a typical junction box, a remote solar charging station, and on board batteries that can be used as a third backup power supply. Additional implementations include power outage detection and backup illumination along with low voltage power supply from a mounting structure.

Abstract: The described embodiments relate to systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing a lighting system that includes backup light emitting diodes (LEDs) that are incorporated into a primary array of LEDs of the lighting system. The backup LEDs can be illuminated when a utility power source for the lighting system becomes unavailable. The backup LEDs can operate from a backup power supply, which can be charged from the utility power source, when the utility power source is available. Furthermore, charging of the backup power supply can be temperature dependent, in order that the backup power supply and/or the charging circuit can be protected from damage caused by operating such components out of an operating specification.

Abstract: A solar powered security light is provided which includes a universal mounting bracket. The security light has a mounting recess which receives the mounting bracket and allows the luminaire to be variably installed in an eave, wall, and gutter or pole mount position. The solar charging station includes associated charging circuits to charge storage devices such that the security light does not need directly line voltage connection. Further the charging station may be placed remote from the luminaire housing and include required electronics thereby reducing the footprint of the luminaire housing and increasing the installation locations.

Abstract: The described embodiments relate to systems, methods, and apparatuses for establishing a network of sensor-responsive lighting units using an interface of each lighting unit. The interface of each lighting unit can include a channel selector switch for selecting a channel to which each lighting unit will be connected. In this way, the creation of a network can be created by placing the lighting units proximate to each other and selecting the same channel at the interface at each lighting unit. The lighting units can include sensors for detecting events occurring at each lighting unit, and information related to the detected events can be shared among other lighting units in the network. Each lighting unit can operate in different operating modes such as a testing mode for testing communications channels and a manual mode for allowing a lighting unit to operate independently of the information shared over the network.

Abstract: An integrated lighting and notification system includes a light fixture connected to an electrical power supply, a camera, a control unit, and a trigger device. The electrical power supply provides electrical power to the light source unit and the camera. The control unit transmits a signal via a network in response to receiving a signal transmitted by the trigger device.
Abstract: A configurable security light is described. The configurable security light may include a first and a second separable lamp head, each of which may include both an upper illumination segment and a lower illumination segment. The lower illumination segment may be affixed to the upper illumination segment through a multi-axis hinge so that the lower illumination segment may be redirected to a secondary light output direction as compared to a primary light output direction of the upper illumination segment.
