Abstract: A floor stand for flat panel display is formed from a horizontal section of square tubing, which forms a support beam. One of the upward-facing surfaces has a series of holes spaced at regular intervals corresponding to the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) standard horizontal spacing specification for mounting flat panel displays. A pair of vertical support columns attach to the horizontal beam. The forward surfaces of the vertical support columns each have as series of holes spaced at regular intervals corresponding to the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) standard vertical spacing specification for mounting flat panel displays. In use, the vertical support columns are attached to the horizontal beam at a separation distance equal to the horizontal spacing of the mounting pattern for the user's selected flat panel display.
Abstract: A cash drawer for use in mobile POS and other retail environments includes a plurality of coin bins that are positioned uniformly around the geometric center of the cash drawer. This unique arrangement eliminates the need for counterweights to prevent the drawer from tipping when opened. Bins for storing paper currency are disposed laterally outward from the coin bins and are canted outward so that the paper currency lies at an angle relative to the floor of the cash drawer rather than lying flat as in a conventional cash drawer. This enables the width of the drawer also to be reduced significantly.
Abstract: A computer stand for use with a tablet computer comprises a frame with a viewing aperture. The tablet computer is secured to the back of the frame with a pair of brackets, each of which consists of a structural angle having a cutout in one flange that is equal in depth to the thickness of the tablet computer. The other flange of the structural angle has a cutout that is bounded by a pair of horns that engage the rounded corners of the tablet computer. The first cutout traps the tablet computer against the back of the frame while the second cutout prevents the tablet computer from moving sideways. Because the brackets are structural channel members, the brackets add rigidity to the frame, which otherwise would be unacceptably flexible or would require additional structural reinforcement.
