  • Patent number: 6782577
Abstract: A knock-down quarter pipe for bikers, skateboarders and in-line skaters has a base, and a plurality of legs extending up from the base, the legs having lower ends lying in a common plane. A deck is supported by the legs at a selected elevation above the base, the deck having front and rear edges and a surface extending between those edges that is substantially parallel to the plane. A ramp extends from the front edge of the deck down to the plane, that ramp having a lower leading edge that is located in that plane and spaced in front of a base. Preferably, the base and at least the lower end portion of the ramp may be filed with a fluid medium to add weight to and lower the center of gravity of the quarter pipe. Preferably also, a rigid coping rail is located between the front edge of the deck and the ramp which can function as a grind rail.

  • Patent number: 6551192
Abstract: Obstacle apparatus includes at least one ramp for launching a bicycle, skateboard or rollerblade rider into the air. The apparatus may also include a second similar ramp and a bridge for releasably connecting the elevated ends of the two ramps in-line so as to produce an in-line obstacle over which riders may roll. The apparatus may also include a grind rail which may be releasably attached to the elevated end of one or both of the ramps so that the ramp/rail assembly may be used by skateboarders and the like to perform various acrobatic feats. The apparatus components are rugged and reliable yet they can be made in quantity at minimum cost. Furthermore, because of their unique designs, they may be shipped and stored in a minimum amount of space.

  • Patent number: 6547221
Abstract: A knock-down grind rail for skateboards and rollerblades is composed of at least two tubes held in axial alignment by a tubular insert inserted into opposing ends of the tubes. The tubes are clamped together end to end by a special, generally U-shaped clip having arms which are bent toward one another to form elbows. The free ends of the clip are inserted through holes present in the tubes adjacent the opposing ends thereof, the spacing of the hole being comparable to the spacing of those arm ends. As the clip arms are pushed into the tubes up to the elbows, the arms are sprung apart thereby exerting a clamping force on the tubes. Suitable supports are provided to support the tube above the ground or other support surface.

  • Patent number: 6482096
Abstract: A swing ride capable of swinging motion about an elevated support. The swing ride includes first and second parts which move toward and away from one another during the swinging motion of the swing and a deformable chamber which is alternately compressed and expanded during the periodic motion of the swing. A fluidically operated toy is connected to one of the parts and a fluid conduit is connected between the deformable chamber and the toy to conduct fluid between the deformable chamber and the toy so that the toy is energized by a change in fluid pressure from the deformable chamber caused by the swinging motion of the swing ride.

  • Patent number: 6402662
Abstract: A trampoline pad assembly for securement to a trampoline of the type including a rebound surface suspended by springs from an elevated ring includes an annular top wall and an annular bottom wall secured together at congruent inner and outer edges to form an annular enclosure defining an interior pocket. At least one radial opening is formed in the bottom wall adjacent to the outer edge thereof which opening extends into the pocket. Resilient material is introduced into the pocket through the opening and an annular flexible skirt is secured to top wall adjacent to the outer edge thereof so that the skirt lies flat against the top wall. The skirt has a free edge and is foldable around those outer edges so that the skirt closes the opening thereby protectively enclosing the resilient material within the pocket and secures the pad assembly to the ring.

  • Patent number: 6205865
Abstract: A mass flowmeter for flowing media, which operates according to the Coriolis principle, with one at least basically straight Coriolis line guiding the flowing medium, with at least one oscillation generator acting on the Coriolis line, with at least one sensor detecting Coriolis oscillations based on a Coriolis force and/or Coriolis forces, and with a compensation cylinder, the Coriolis line being located within the compensation cylinder and mechanically connected with the compensation cylinder. According to the invention, the mass flowmeter is designed and further developed so that the oscillation properties of the compensation cylinder essentially correspond to those of the Coriolis line, so that, during operation, the compensation cylinder and the Coriolis line oscillate opposite one another in the manner of a tuning fork.

  • Patent number: 6105804
Abstract: A collapsible shipping and storage container includes a collapsible exterior frame which supports a durable heavy-duty flexible bag within the confines of the frame. The bag has an open top through which parts may be tossed to fill the interior of the bag and an opening is provided in a wall of the bag for providing side access to the interior of the bag so that personnel can remove parts from the bag as they are needed. A closure is provided for that opening which can be opened from the top of the bag downward so that the bag may be accessed at progressively lower locations on the bag as the bag is emptied. When erected, the container frame is a sturdy structure so that a plurality of containers can be stacked. The frame is also collapsible so that when the associated bag is empty, the container can be collapsed and stacked with other similarly collapsed containers so that several collapsed containers can occupy the same space as a single erect container.
