  • Patent number: 6832457
Abstract: A vehicle window assembly including a protective transparent plastic window liner covering the inner side of the glass pane and held removably in place by flexible liner-retaining strips having quarter-round molding portions overlying the margins of the liner and anchor portions that are releasably secured in mounting grooves along the edge portions of the window pane. The anchor portions are integral with the molding portions and are pressed into the grooves past detent ribs that lock the strips releasably in place, to secure the window liner against easy removal by a passenger but permitting removal by service personnel for replacement. The mounting grooves are in elongated window-retaining bars that are positioned against the inner side of the paneand also are removably secured in place for ease of reglazing, having enlarged deformable anchors pressed into locking grooves with restricted open sides forming releasable tongue-and-groove connections for removal by tilting of the bars.

  • Patent number: 6723821
Abstract: The invention features a polyamine epoxide adduct, prepared by admixing a source of epoxy group with a polyamine, and allowing the epoxy groups to react with the terminal amino groups of the polyamine so as to form the polyamine epoxy adduct. The polyamine epoxide adduct of the invention can be used as a component for preparing a polyurea polymer, thereby providing the resulting polyurea polymer with improved adhesiveness and greater chemical resistance to acidic conditions. Polyurea polymer coatings prepared from polyamine epoxide adducts demonstrate better chemical resistance and adhesion when applied to substrates than do conventionally prepared polyurea formulations.

  • Patent number: 6290268
Abstract: A dual rotary latch assembly installed in the door of an RV and comprising two rotary latches spaced apart along the free edge of the door and connected by a linkage embedded in the door to open the upper latch along with the lower latch but slightly in advance thereof. The linkage includes a slide mounted on the lower latch with a lost-motion connection and connected to the trip lever of the lower latch to be moved thereby, a spring-loaded adjustable connection between the slide and an elongated link, for adjusting the timing of the operation of the upper latch, and a pivotal connection between the link and the trip lever of the upper latch, to move this to the unlatching position during the movement of the trip lever of the lower latch toward its unlatching position. The spring for the linkage can be selected to resist 30 “G” dynamic forces.

  • Patent number: 6037385
Abstract: An acrylic urethane prepolymer composition and an unsaturated polyester resin composition to which the prepolymer has been added. The prepolymer composition includes an acrylic urethane prepolymer prepared by the reaction of diisocyanate, such as MDI, with an hydroxyl-containing acrylate monomer, such as a pentaerythritol triacrylate. The prepolymer composition contains a styrene monomer and an inhibitor, such as benzoquinone, to retard the reaction of the prepolymer and styrene monomer prior to the addition of the prepolymer composition into the polyester resin composition and a photoinitiator to promote the polymerization of the resin by exposure to radiant energy. The employment of the urethane prepolymer composition provides for the reduction in the amount of styrene monomer used in the unsaturated resin composition and also provides for improved chemical and physical properties of the photocured, unsaturated resin composition.
