Patents Assigned to Heidelberger Druckmachinen
  • Patent number: 8807033
Abstract: A print control strip to be applied to printing material during a multicolor printing process, includes multiple measuring fields associated with one ink zone on the printing material. The measuring fields, which are associated with one ink zone, include at least two gray measuring fields. A method of measuring measuring fields in print control strips on printing material with a measuring device and a control unit connected thereto, and a method of controlling metering of ink in offset printing presses including at least one ink metering device in each printing unit and a control unit, are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8508764
Abstract: A method and a diagnostic device for a printing press are described, wherein data is automatically transmitted by a central data processor of the printing press to a locally distanced central data processor when a threshold value is upwardly transgressed, downwardly transgressed or reached. The data is preferably assessed prior to the evaluation and/or the transmission to the remote central data processor. In this way, a simple telediagnostic service of the printing press is possible.

  • Patent number: 8047089
Abstract: A device for the optical measurement of a printed sheet includes a measurement table with a displaceable measurement head. The measurement head is cleaned in a fully automatic or at least semi-automatic manner through the use of a cleaning device of the measurement table. A method for operating the device is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6164201
Abstract: The present invention is directed to providing apparatus and methods for lateral position control using a web guide which detects a relative lateral shift of a web upstream of a control device. Error correction is thereby implemented using a phase advance rather than a phase lag. The lateral displacement control can be implemented continuously, or can be activated at certain times (e.g., when a new roll is spliced to an old roll, or when disturbances enter the system). The invention eliminates wasted time and wasted paper, by eliminating misalignment of a web with respect to a printing unit.

  • Patent number: 5320039
Abstract: A web engagement system for an off-reel printing press comprising a guide piece, a guide channel and drive stations for the displacement of the guide piece. The guide channel accommodates and guides the guide piece and is located on the frame of the press between the drive stations. The guide piece is slightly longer than the distance separating the various drive stations. The advance of the guide piece is caused as a result of the displacement of a slide equipped with wedging rollers which alternately grip and release the guide piece. A pair of wedging rollers prevents the return movement of the guide piece. The invention is used for introducing paper webs unwinding continuously in an off-reel printing press.

  • Patent number: 5249522
Abstract: A device for adjusting the circumferential register at rotary printing machines. At least one pulley engaging in a groove of a grooved cam is fastened to the gearwheel. Via tappets, the grooved cam is guided at the cylinder body so as to be axially displaceable. The groove is obliquely disposed as seen axially, and the grooved cam is axially movable via an adjusting means. A simple adjustment of the circumferential register is permitted, and such adjustment can be effected with great accuracy during machine operation. The drive forces caused by the gearwheel may be transmitted onto the cylinder body largely without play.

  • Patent number: 5235909
Abstract: A device for damping bending vibrations in a printing-unit cylinder of a rotary printing press includes at least one damper disposed in a printing-unit cylinder and tunable to a wide-band frequency, the damper having at least one member with a natural frequency corresponding to a natural frequency of the printing-unit cylinder, and a device for supporting the damper member so that the damper member is deflected in phase opposition to a deflection of the printing-unit cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4157820
Abstract: Clamping means for workpieces of different shape, includes a clamping member firmly connected to at least one workpiece and being receivable and clampable in a clamping device, the clamping member being integral with the at least one workpiece and being formed of narrow web-like bridges, and three support cams disposed at extremities of the bridges outside the at least one workpiece, the support cams being located at respective vertices of an imaginary triangle.
