Abstract: A method of increasing location based service accuracy by correcting location data associated with a fixed source using a mobile communication device. The method includes the step of receiving, on the mobile communication device, a first set of location data. The first set of location data is originated from the fixed source such that if the location data is accurate, a physical location of the mobile communication device can be determined. The fixed source has a stored physical address which is updateable by an operator. At least a portion of the first set of location data derives from the stored physical address. The method further includes the steps of determining whether the first set of location data is accurate, and transmitting an error report to the operator when the first set of location data is inaccurate.

Abstract: A method of conducting a search on a mobile device, the mobile device capable of communicating with a content server. The method includes the steps of: initiating a search query using a browser on the mobile device, the search query having a search string; automatically obtaining location information of the mobile device; simultaneously transmitting the location information and the search query to the content server; and receiving a search result from the content server in response to the search query, wherein the step of automatically obtaining location information is in response to the step of initiating the search query.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods and systems for sharing and distributing electronic content using a mobile device are presented. In more specific terms, a viral marketing-based, discounted referral and recommendation model by which users may forward electronic content to other users in disclosed. In one aspect, a method of distributing electronic media content over a network includes displaying a discounted offer on a first device that has been transmitted from another device for which the electronic media content has been purchased. A notification is then received, and upon receiving an acceptance from the first device, the electronic media content is transmitted to the device.

Abstract: A method and system for location determination of a multi-mode device using a plurality of GPS fixation processes, each fixation process using a different mode (e.g. Cell-ID, MS-Assist, and MS-based) of the device is provided. The invention relates to methods for quickly obtaining and displaying geographic location of a mobile device on its display. These methods can be performed by applying successive fixation steps as outline herein.

Abstract: In part, the invention relates to a method for generating location data using a wireless mobile device, the wireless mobile device adapted to communicate with a plurality of location services, each service associated with one of a plurality of networks. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of: selecting a first location service from the plurality of location services; transmitting a first request for location data to the first location service; if the first request fails, selecting a second location service from the plurality of location services; and receiving location data from one of the first and the second location services.

Electronic content gathered from service providers over a network is presented in an intuitive, efficient and effective manner to easily allow a mobile device user seamless access to a variety of electronic content and functionality. An integrated message system for organizing information for registered accounts on a mobile device is also provided. The system includes an aggregated content interface presenting a number of service provider indicators. The system also includes submenus corresponding to each of the service provider indicators of the aggregated content interface. Each of the submenus includes a plurality of tabbed interfaces that replicate the functionality of a service provider.

In more specific terms, embodiments relate to a modeless search architecture in which queries can be initiated simply by actuating an input device, such as typing on the keypad, or issuing a voice command. In one aspect, the invention relates to a mobile device for modelessly executing and displaying results of a contact query, search term or voice command. In another aspect, the invention relates to a method for performing a modeless search on a mobile device.

A server or the mobile electronic device may remove the push feeds automatically, without any instruction from the user, after the expiration of a predetermined amount of time.
