  • Patent number: 5526264
Abstract: An anti-lock brake control system comprises at least two micro-computers and at least two input/output circuits which monitor one another as well as functions of other components of the anti-lock brake control system. If faulty voltages appear within the anti-lock brake control system or if false values in transmitted signals occur, the anti-lock brake control system will be dependably shut down. By integrating a plurality of monitoring functions in the input/output circuits as well as by building redundancies into the anti-lock brake control system, a high level of safety is achieved, in spite of the small number of necessary components and the small production cost associated therewith.

  • Patent number: 5515278
Abstract: A circuit has circuit amplifiers (T1, T2) and inductive loads (MV1, MV2) with the circuit amplifiers being controlled by control signals provided by a microcomputer (MC). The circuit accomplishes this control while monitoring a load circuit, comprised of the circuit amplifiers and the loads, and terminates control of the circuit amplifiers, without assistance of the controlling microcomputer, upon occurrence of incorrect voltages in the load circuit. Thus, the circuit of this invention allows particularly fast termination of control of the load circuit upon the appearances of critical voltages and also allows the monitoring of the load circuits by the microcomputer in a particularly uncomplicated manner.

  • Patent number: 5515245
Abstract: A lamp (5) is mounted from a rear side of a motor vehicle headlight in an opening (4) at a crown of a reflector (3) of the headlight. A socket (6) of the lamp has a surrounding flange (11) with radial positioning ears (12) extending outwardly therefrom. The opening of the reflector is surrounded by an attaching ring (15) made of resinous-plastic and having spring tongues (16) formed thereon. The positioning ears of the lamp, can be moved between the tongues and the lamp can be screwed about its length axis so as to interengage the positioning ears with the spring tongues. In an end position of the lamp, the spring tongues lie biased against the positioning ears, pressing the flange of the lamp against a seating surface (26) which is formed on an inner rim portion of the attaching ring. The inner rim portion is arranged between the spring tongues and the reflector, to be spaced from the spring tongues.

  • Patent number: 5486985
Abstract: An adjusting apparatus for one or more headlight reflectors (1) has first and second miter gear mechanisms (4, 12), each of which includes a toothed-gear pair. The reflector can be pivoted about an axis by a rotation device, or knob, on the exterior of the housing. The two miter gear mechanisms are coupled by means of a rigid shaft (13) which is positioned in a bearing box (9) formed in a housing rearward wall (7). The shaft carries at each of its free ends a shaft toothed-gear of the respective first and second miter gear mechanisms and is held radially in the bearing box by means of girding elements of the toothed-gears (5, 15) whose teeth engage with the teeth of the shaft toothed-gears.

  • Patent number: 5475352
Abstract: An armature support for a hinged relay has beveled bearing surfaces which force the armature, when the armature is displaced, into a rotational movement about a center of a switch contact. In this manner, structural tolerances of the hinged relay, as well as axial play in the armature support, are balanced out to avoid a switch contact displacement.

  • Patent number: 5374920
Abstract: A directional and warning blink apparatus for a vehicle, particularly for a motor vehicle, comprises a directional warning blink sender (1) including a relay (12) with a driving circuit (5) therefor, a timing generator (4) and a control and logic circuit (3) for controlling timing operation of the timing generator. The control and logic circuit detects, via several input terminals, a chosen operational mode (warning blinking or directional blinking) as well as a blink signal lamp current and executes several control functions dependent upon these two items of information. • Patent number: 5321594
Abstract: A headlight for a vehicle has a bowl shaped light-transmissive shield and a housing of resinous plastic. The housing has at its outer peripheral edge a receiving surface for receiving a foot of the light-transmissive shield. Protrusions on the receiving surface serve as a seating for the light-transmissive shield and, upon mounting the light-transmissive shield on the housing, these protrusions are deformed by pressure of the foot of the light-transmissive shield against them so that they form a narrow, surrounding, bed on at least one side of the foot of the light-transmissive shield. The foot of the light-transmissive shield is held in this bed by a mechanical device which extends between the light-transmissive shield and the housing.

  • Patent number: 5268617
Abstract: A power-supply apparatus, or ballast, for starting and operating a high-pressure gas discharge lamp is fed from a battery and has at least one current- and/or power-controlled voltage converter which is coupled to a high-pressure gas discharge lamp via an ignition device and to a current/power control device via input and output terminals. A comparator of the current/power control device produces a switching signal dependent upon a lamp voltage input signal, and a capacitor, dependent upon the switching signal, is charged with a circuit having a first time constant and discharged with a circuit having a second time constant. The charge voltage of the capacitor is applied to the output to determine the level and duration of additional power supplied to the high-pressure gas discharge lamp after ignition. When the power-supply apparatus is turned off, the capacitor is coupled to a second reference voltage source and is charged by means of the first time constant.

  • Patent number: 5203499
Abstract: In a process and apparatus for controlling an interior temperature of a motor vehicle a nominal temperature is set and is used with a sensed interior space temperature to produce a difference value which is fed to a controller (R). The controller produces a controlling value from the difference value which it feeds to an output stage (E) for cyclically and directionally driving a DC motor (M) which adjusts the position of an adjustable member (SG) to influence an amount of heat fed to an interior space (I) of the motor vehicle. A position signal of the adjustable member is measured and fed in a control loop in order to ensure an exact and dependable positioning of the adjustable member, with the positioning signal being formed by measuring and analyzing partial movements of the DC motor through predetermined angles for activations and further rotation of the DC motor.

  • Patent number: 5191530
Abstract: In a method and apparatus to regulate the illumination range of a motor vehicle in which, at a position on a front axle and at a position on a rear axle, signals are measured which are dependent upon the relative position of a motor-vehicle body to the front axle and the rear axle, with a difference formation between the signal from the front axle and that of the rear axle being accomplished with a resulting difference signal, as a nominal-value signal, being filtered to a first average-value formation. The time for the first average-value formation is determined by a first filter (F1) time constant with positions of adjusting elements being regulated when the first filtered nominal-value deviates from a predetermined, or set, value.
