  • Patent number: 11465215
Abstract: A facing head as well as a method for inserting a tool into and/or removing a tool from a tool holder device of the facing head. The facing head has a spindle coupling device for exchangeably coupling with a spindle chuck of a working spindle of a machine tool. The facing head has a housing body at which or in which a facing slide is moveably supported in a guided manner. The facing slide supports the tool holder device. The tool holder device is hydraulically controllable. A hydraulic coupling that is mechanically and hydraulically coupled with an associated hydraulic control coupling of the housing body in a tool change position of the facing slide. Remote from the tool change position, the mechanical and hydraulic connection between the hydraulic coupling and the associated hydraulic control coupling is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 11467555
Abstract: A method for determination of an effective machine use of a machine tool, as well as a machine tool that is configured for this purpose. The machine tool has multiple machine axes in order to move a workpiece and/or a tool. A rotary drive drives the workpiece or the tool in order to remove material. A control unit of the machine tool determines a use duration characteristic parameter (T) and an output power characteristic parameter (L) and determines therefrom a machine use characteristic parameter (M). The use duration characteristic parameter (T) describes a duration during which the workpiece is machined by the tool. The output power characteristic parameter (L) describes the applied or required power in order to effect the material removal. The machine use characteristic parameter (M) is determined by the control unit, such that it can be transmitted to an external unit for further evaluation or processing.

  • Patent number: 11198200
Abstract: The machine spindle arrangement (22) according to the invention forms a unit with a motor (19) as central element. At one side of the motor (19) a spindle neck (35) with a spindle (32) is flanged that is directly driven by the rotor (28) of the motor (19). The spindle (32) is a so-called null spindle that can be replaced without readjustment with all bearings and other wear parts due to the present exactly adjusted positioning surface (39) that abuts against an axially properly defined bearing contact surface (38). At the backside of the motor (19) facing away from the spindle (32), a tool releasing device (20) and an angle adjustment transmission (21) is arranged that serves to rotate a present traverse feed shaft (42) relative to the spindle (32). The traverse feed shaft (42) serves to actuate an adjustment device at the tool (15).

  • Patent number: 11192214
Abstract: The machine tool (10) has an asymmetrically constructed workpiece positioning device (16) which runs on three guide rails (17, 18, 19). It comprises two carriages (20, 45) which are connected together by a workpiece carrier (31) that is mounted so as to be rotatable about the A axis. While the first carriage (20) serves for the longitudinal and rotary positioning of the workpiece carrier (31), the second carriage (45) is provided merely for supplementary weight support. This results in a mechanically slimline, low-weight structure with high positioning accuracy. High dynamic loadability and thus a high machining rate and particularly high vibration resistance is allowed.

  • Patent number: 11135691
Abstract: The inventive working spindle comprises a spindle housing and a spindle shaft with axial positioning surface and axial contact surface by which the correct axial position of each fitting provided spindle shaft in the spindle housing is obtained. For torque-proof holding of the spindle shaft in the spindle housing, preferably with stationary motor, a braking unit is provided that comprises a radial outer part that is coupled with the spindle housing in a torque-proof manner and a radial inner part that is coupled with the spindle shaft in a torque-proof manner. The largest outer diameter of the peripheral surface of the inner part is smaller than the narrowest location of the through-opening of the spindle housing between the braking unit and the tool side end of the spindle housing. For this reason the spindle shaft can be readily removed from the spindle housing without disassembly measures of the braking unit, if required, and can be reinserted in reverse route.

  • Patent number: 11059136
Abstract: A workpiece holder device for a machine tool has a holder, which has a support part and a holder part. The support part supports the holder on a support device, preferably so that the holder can rotate about an axis of rotation. The holder part is set up to hold a workpiece directly or indirectly. To avoid, or at least minimize deviations from a desired alignment of the holder part based on elastic deformation of the holder due to the weight force of the workpiece, the holder has at least one mechanical or hydraulic pretensioning device arranged on or in it. The pretensioning device can be used to pretension the material of the holder, so that the pretensioning device applies a tensile stress or a compressive stress to at least one part of the holder. This can counteract a deviation of position due to an elastic deformation of the holder.
