Abstract: The invention concerns a process for the production of a porous ?-SiC-bearing ceramic molded body that includes an aluminum oxide layer at the surface of the pores and passages of the porous ?-SiC-bearing ceramic molded body. The invention further concerns a porous ?-SiC-bearing ceramic molded body which has pores of a mean pore size in the range of between 0.1 urn and 50 ?m and an aluminum oxide layer at the surface of the open pores and passages.

Abstract: The invention relates to a formed body comprising an at least partially amorphous inorganic supporting structure and an adsorption agent, which adsorption agent is disposed on and/or in the amorphous inorganic supporting structure. The invention further relates to a process for the production of same and to the use of said formed body in a filtering system, preferably in a motor vehicle.

Abstract: The invention relates to an array of shaped activated carbon articles having channels extending through said array of shaped activated carbon articles, wherein said array of shaped activated carbon articles includes at least two shaped monolithic activated carbon articles containing channels, which channels of the at least two shaped monolithic activated carbon articles are connected so as to communicate with each other and the free cross-sectional areas formed by the channel cross-sections thereof have different values in said first and second shaped monolithic activated carbon articles. The invention also relates to a tank venting system and a motor vehicle containing an array of shaped activated carbon articles of the invention. Finally, the invention relates to a process for the production of said array of shaped activated carbon articles of the invention.
Abstract: Proposed is a process for producing active carbon with increased catalytic activity, wherein the process starts from an active carbon substrate which in particular is an active carbon substrate based on a carbon-bearing cokable raw material, and includes heating of the active carbon substrate to the activation temperature by contacting it with a reaction gas mixture and cooling of the active carbon substrate which is activated in that way.
Abstract: The inventions directed to a process for producing non-woven fabric materials in which nano- and/or microfibers are produced by an electrostatic spinning process from a polymer melt or a polymer solution and deposited to form a non-woven fabric. A carrier material in web form is arranged or is passed through between at least two spraying devices which are in the form of electrodes for producing an electrical field and each side of the carrier material is coated with the nano- and/or microfibers of opposite polarity, which are produced by means of the spraying devices.
Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanically stable, porous shaped activated carbon article having a first three-dimensional framework structure based on carbonized resin, a second three-dimensional inorganic framework structure comprising ceramic material and/or baked refractory material, and binding agent, as well as activated carbon particles, in which the first and second framework structures penetrate each other at least partially and the activated carbon particles are fixed to the framework structures. The invention also relates to a process for the production of such a shaped activated carbon article and to the use thereof.
